Show job description

Experian is a global data and technology company, powering opportunities for people and businesses around the world. We operate across a range of markets, from financial services to healthcare, automotive, agribusiness, insurance, and many more. Experian invests in people and new advanced technologies to unlock the power of data. We have an amazing team of 25,200 people in 32 countries.

As Expert Product Manager, Clearinghouse, you will own the platforms that handle data exchange between healthcare payers and Experian Health products, including claims submission, claim status, eligibility, and authorization. You will work at the top of the individual contributor track, guiding a larger or more complex engineering team (or more than one related team) and leading strategy for the most complex Clearinghouse problems. This includes X12 transaction processing (837/835, 276/277, 270/271, 278), caching and reuse, transaction billing, the user portal and analytics, and developer tooling.

Location:

At Experian, we believe great work happens when people come together. We're focused on attracting talent in and around our designated hub locations who are open to collaborating with colleagues in person. Aligning employees to these talent markets helps foster collaboration, strengthen team connections, and support long-term career growth within Experian. You will report to the Sr. Director of Product, Clearinghouse, and reside in or near one of our collaboration hubs:

Costa Mesa, CA; San Jose, CA; Allen, TX; Austin, TX; Franklin, TN; New York, NY; Schaumberg, IL; Washington, D.C.; Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Seattle, WA

You will have opportunity to:

  • Lead discovery and strategy for the most complex Clearinghouse platform problems, and contribute to new opportunities beyond your core area when called on.
  • Guide a larger or more complex engineering team, or more than one related team, and own delivery and quality decisions.
  • Shape positioning and trade-offs across more than one Clearinghouse capability, using competitive and market analysis.
  • Build business cases for high-impact Clearinghouse investments and track their business results after launch.
  • Write and prioritize requirements for complex, multi-team initiatives, including new payer connections and EDI transaction changes.
  • Lead complex, cross-product launches and help set the go-to-market approach other launches follow.
  • Lead high-stakes customer and internal sessions on claims performance, rejection trends, and payer connectivity, repair complex customer relationships, and coach other product managers.
  • Use AI and prototyping on complex, regulated problems, set shared practices other product managers adopt, and advise them on architecture trade-offs and Experian approval processes (compliance, procurement, data protection).
  • 7+ years of product management experience, including owning a product area from start to finish and independently guiding engineering teams.
  • Experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, EDI transaction processing, or clearinghouse operations. Direct experience with X12 270/271, 276/277, 835, or 837 transactions is strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading discovery and strategy on complex problems that extend beyond a single product area, including writing requirements for multi-team initiatives.
  • Experience leading high-stakes customer conversations and repairing complex customer relationships.
  • Experience using data analysis and AI tools (chat-based assistants, agentic tools, and prototyping tools such as Cursor) to guide decisions, and setting responsible-use practices for others.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, X12 EDI standards, and the clearinghouse competitive landscape (for example, Waystar, Availity, and Change Healthcare).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Reside in, or near the designated Collaboration Hub(s) for this role.
