That’s why we’re looking for a detail-oriented Facilities Supervisor to join us. In this position, you’ll... lead the maintenance and custodial teams, and their main responsibility is to manage projects, maintain equipment and machines, conduct safety inspections, and enforce parking rules. To do that, the Facilities Supervisor must have awesome organizational skills and strong leadership qualities. Your daily tasks will include: Manage the facilities team (custodians, facilities, and coordinators). Plan and coordinate facility resources (equipment, personnel, and inventory) to maintain optimal performance of all facility-related processes/systems such as gas, water, electrical, plumbing, etc. Effectively maintain forklifts, aerial lifts, and order picking equipment in a safe and controlled manner; ensure competence in operating this equipment. Ensure OSHA guidelines are followed throughout the facility. Plan and organize building improvements, renovations, and capital equipment installations. Maintain and monitor all facility equipment and amenities, and oversee their repair. Ensure that the facility is thoroughly cleaned and maintained from a sanitary and aesthetic point of view. Train, develop, mentor, and continuously evaluate your team members. Ensure all necessary facility inspections (fire extinguishers, fire alarms, backflow valves, sprinklers, etc.) are performed as needed. Consult with HR to resolve staff-related issues. Coordinate outsourced facility work with necessary contractors and audit their performance. Evaluate work proposals and their financial feasibility. Review RFPs (Requests for Proposals) and lease documents. Evaluate utility consumption and strive to cut costs. Oversee the set-up of facility events, such as hiring fairs, orientations, lunch meals, etc. Coordinate ground maintenance, such as trash removal, snow removal, plant trimming, etc. Ensure waste is disposed of properly and that an effective recycling program is in place. Control the parking lot to ensure correct parking at our facilities, e.g., non-handicap employees not parking in handicapped parking spots. Conduct analysis and forecasting of facility needs, such as supplies. Your qualifications: 3+ years of experience in a facilities management role for a manufacturing/warehousing operation. Excellent leadership and people management skills. Knowledge of and work experience with the 5-S process and CMMS. Knowledge of facilities' electrical infrastructure, Gas lines, Plumbing, HVAC systems, and Networking infrastructure. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with MS Excel. Outstanding communication skills (both spoken and written). Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach. Understanding of quality standards and health & safety (OSHA) regulations. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Experience working with IT and networking systems is a plus.
