The FaDSS (Family Development and Self-Sufficiency) Program assists FIP recipients and other low-income families with goals to reach economic independence and satisfaction in their lives. Sieda provides FaDSS services in Appanoose, Davis, Jefferson, Keokuk, Mahaska, Van Buren and Wapello Counties and works closely with Promise Jobs to increase income and employability for participants. This position will work primarily in Appanoose, but may require providing services and travel in all 7 counties. Under the supervision of the FaDSS Program Manager and the Economic Family Support Services Director, this position has the responsibility for the implementation and delivery of FaDSS services within the seven counties in Sieda’s service area. FaDSS is a voluntary home visitation program that focuses on the well-being of the whole family and is trauma-informed, evidence-based and client-centered. FaDSS emphasizes the strengths of families and builds upon those strengths, assisting families to set and attain goals, while recognizing that families seek to address their multiple needs at a pace and intensity that works for them. FaDSS believes that families can become independent and thriving community members with support of the FaDSS program. FaDSS Specialists are responsible for ongoing support of families, home visits, maintenance of files, documentation, goal setting, recruitment and all deadlines and requirements of the FaDSS Program. FaDSS Specialists collaborate with other providers, resources and community contacts for program referrals, continuity of care, and improvement of service provision. PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to be considered for this position. Requires completion of an associate degree in early childhood/Education/Social Work/Family Services or related field from an accredited college or university and 5 years’ experience working with children and/or families. OR A bachelor’s degree in Human Services/Education/Social Work/Family Services or related field from an accredited four-year college or university and 2 years’ experience working with children and/or families. Applicants must also have the ability to work in a highly confidential setting and be able to understand, learn, and adapt to new technology. Employment is contingent upon a criminal background check including a registry check of past/current founded child abuse. Salary range for this position is $41,496-$48,776/year and is commensurate with education and experience. This is a full-time position and will require some travel between the 7 counties.
