JOB FUNCTION:

Prepare for and manage the day-to-day operational activities of a family child care setting assigned to support as a substitute or second adult caregiver. Understand and support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment. Communicate effectively with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, the family child care educator, and the parents. Build collaborative relationships with area family child care educators, and explore additional shared services supports to save providers’ cost and time.

Position will serve family child care providers in Clay County.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

· Two years of practical experience working directly with young children

· Knowledge of Minnesota Rule 2 and/or Rule 3 child care licensing regulations

· Must hold a valid driver’s license and current insurance. Must be able to arrange own transportation to meet with clients and conduct business within service delivery area

Preferred

· One of the following:

o Possess or be pursuing a Child Development Associate (CDA)

o Associates or Bachelors in child development, early childhood, education, human services or a related field

· Experience working in a child care setting

· Experience with community organizing, community engagement, and/or outreach

· Lived experience or a history working with individuals with low incomes
