Family Haven is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a community of happy, healthy individuals and families through education and the prevention and treatment of child abuse and trauma. We provide family support programs and outpatient mental health services from our locations in Orem and Lehi.


We are looking for a Family Educator - Abuse Prevention Facilitator to join our Education Team. This position focuses primarily on providing engaging, age-appropriate education to students in local schools, helping children and youth build skills related to personal safety, self-advocacy, healthy relationships, boundaries, and well-being. The educator will build strong relationships with school personnel and community partners while representing Family Haven in schools throughout our service area.


What You'll Do

  • Deliver PROTECT and other approved education curricula to elementary and secondary students in local schools.
  • Coordinate school presentations and build strong relationships with teachers, school personnel, and community partners.
  • Create engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences that help students develop personal safety, self-advocacy, healthy relationship, and communication skills.
  • Complete program documentation, evaluations, and reporting and assist with curriculum updates and program improvement.
  • Participate in outreach, community events, team meetings, and training while representing Family Haven professionally.
  • Provide occasional parenting education or other Education Department support as needed.


What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Development, Education, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience or ability in teaching, classroom facilitation, or community education.
  • Comfortable engaging with elementary and secondary students and discussing sensitive topics in a professional, approachable manner.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout Family Haven’s service area; mileage is reimbursed. Most school presentations occur during school hours, with occasional evening events or training.

Preferred:

  • Spanish language proficiency.
  • Experience working with children or youth and presenting educational content to groups or classrooms.
  • Experience in education, personal safety, or family education.
