Role:
The Faster Payment Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accurate, secure, and real-time processing of immediate transactions from RTP, FedNow, and Stablecoin by monitoring systems, resolving exceptions, reviewing appropriate reports, and managing risk.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Performs monitoring of high-volume real-time payments across various systems to ensure completion within strict service level agreements, regulations, and compliance. Actively identifies opportunities for process improvement and streamlining faster payment providers.
  • Investigates, troubleshoots, and resolves payment discrepancies, transaction denials, exceptions, and reversal request. Handles inquiries from employees, members, vendors, and other financial institutions.
  • Contributes to daily operations, provides insight for business updates to department management, and coordinates with key stakeholders in the organization.
  • Reviews daily voucher, daily report download, and settlement to ensure accuracy in the payment posting.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years Member/customer service experience with the financial institution. Required
  • Minimum 3 years Knowledge of basic compliance and banking regulations. Required
  • Minimum 3 years Knowledge of operating rules in regards to RTP, FedNow, and Stablecoin. Preferred

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Associates Degree in computer science, business administration, or related field. Preferred
  • Certification/License Accredited Faster Payments Professional (AFPP) or Faster Payment Professional (FPP) certification. If not currently held, the ability to obtain within a 2 year time frame. Required
  • Certification/License Accredited Payment Risk Professional (APRP) certification. Preferred

Other Skills Required:

  • Ability to interact professionally and confidentially with employees, management, members, and external partners for the purposes of resolving issues, giving or obtaining information, and building relationships.
  • Ability to communicated effectively and professionally with staff, all levels of management, and outside third parties including vendors and other financial institutions via phone and email.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while keeping leadership informed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
