Federal Work Study Off Campus - YMCA of Newark and Vicinity - Emergency Residence Program Counselor

• Counselors are responsible for ensuring that all activities on the residents’ floors run safely and smoothly according to the implemented policies and procedures.
• The YMCA’s recruitment process includes comprehensive background screening, including a pre-employment drug test and a criminal background check upon hire, and a wide range of training.

*Must be Berkeley College FWS eligible only.

• Minimum: High School graduate or equivalent
• Demonstrated computer skills. Ability to learn new systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate with a wide variety of constituents in a professional manner, displaying tact and diplomacy when needed
• Ability to work on Holidays
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) ability desired
