Field CTO

AI-Native ITSM & ESM | AI Workforce Platform

Location: United States (remote), with travel to customer sites and events

Reports to: Head of Sales, Global Accounts

Focus: Global 2000 / Fortune 500 enterprises

About Atomicwork

Atomicwork is on a mission to transform the digital workplace experience by uniting people, processes, and platforms through the AI workforce. Our team is building an agentic service management platform that enables growing businesses to reduce IT operational complexity and drive business success.

Customers deploy AI Coworkers that own whole job roles, from the IT support to IT operations, HR service delivery, finance support and legal service delivery bringing business agility and capacity to Enterprise IT teams. Customers use us to replace legacy tools such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, BMC and Freshservice. Results include roughly 50% fewer tickets, 75% lower MTTR with ServiceNow replaced in 6–8 weeks and IT MTTR cut from 2 days to few minutes.

The Role

The Field CTO is Atomicwork's most credible technical voice in front of Global 2000 CIOs, CTOs, CISOs and enterprise architects. Your primary mandate is to own the technical strategy for our largest and most complex enterprise pursuits and help us win and expand them. You will also get your hands dirty building things (reference architectures, prototypes, agents and integrations that show what is possible) and, over time, help shape how the market thinks about agentic AI in enterprise service delivery. You will sit within the Global Accounts team and stay fully plugged into Product and Engineering.

This role is not a traditional sales engineer leader and not a keynote-only evangelist. We want a technologist who can hold a room of senior IT leaders, open an IDE the same afternoon, and give our product team the input they act on.

What You Will Do

Strategic enterprise deal leadership & technical executive engagement (primary focus)

• Act as a trusted technical advisor to G2000 CIOs, CTOs and CISOs. Lead with insight about agentic AI, the AI workforce and the future of IT and enterprise service, not with product features.

• Own the technical strategy for our most complex opportunities: identify architecture objections early, build the migration or coexistence narrative, align internal & external stakeholders, resolve technical blockers and AI related concerns with authority, and help create the enterprise business case.

• Work with Head of Sales, Account Executives and Solutions Consultants on our largest pursuits. Bring executive and technical leadership to our sales process, architecture reviews and executive sponsor meetings.

• Reframe the customer's problem using the Challenger approach. Build the business case for moving from legacy ITSM, either as a full replacement or as an AI layer on top of ServiceNow or Jira, with quantified ROI and TCO.

• Engage enterprise architecture and security early, so long enterprise cycles keep moving.

Builder — Enterprise architecture, hands-on prototyping & technical credibility

• Build working prototypes, custom AI Coworkers, AI skills, MCP servers that prove value in a customer's environment.

• Create reusable reference architectures, migration and coexistence playbooks, and demo assets the whole GTM team can use.

• Use AI-native tools in your own work (coding agents, LLM APIs, eval frameworks) and help the field teams do the same.

Voice of the customer & product/engineering partnership

• Turn patterns from the field into clear, prioritized input for Product and Engineering. Influence the roadmap for enterprise readiness, integrations and the agent platform.

• Partner with Marketing on positioning against ServiceNow, Jira SM, Freshservice, ManageEngine and new AI-native entrants.

Industry evangelism & thought leadership

• Build Atomicwork's point of view and thought leadership through keynotes, CIO roundtables, analyst briefings (Gartner, Forrester, IDC), podcasts, blogs and technical content.

• Help set up and lead a CIO advisory council and a community of AI-forward IT leaders.

What You Bring

• 15+ years in enterprise technology. Some of that time was in a CTO, Chief Architect, Field CTO, Distinguished Engineer or similar senior technical role at a B2B SaaS company or a large enterprise IT organization.

• Deep knowledge of ITSM/ESM and IT operations (ServiceNow, Jira SM, BMC or similar), including data models, workflows, CMDB, integrations and the realities of migration.

• Hands-on depth in modern AI: LLMs, RAG, agent architectures, tool use and MCP, evaluation, and AI security and governance. You can explain how these work, not just name them.

• Strong builder skills. You can still write production-quality code (Python, TypeScript or similar), work with APIs, and stand up a working prototype quickly.

• Proven executive presence with G2000 CIOs and CISOs. You have influenced seven-figure, multi-stakeholder enterprise deals.

• Commercial sense: you connect technical choices to business outcomes such as ROI, TCO, productivity and risk.

• A strong public voice through speaking, writing, or community. An existing network of enterprise IT leaders is a strong plus.

• A start-up and operator mindset. You are comfortable with ambiguity, creating things from scratch, moving fast, and pairing curiosity with grit.

Nice to Have

• Former ServiceNow, Atlassian, BMC or Moveworks technical leader, or a former enterprise CIO/CTO/Chief Architect who bought these platforms.

• Experience with hyperscaler (AWS, Azure, GCP) and GSI co-sell motions.

• Published work, patents or open-source contributions in AI, automation or enterprise platforms.

What Success Looks Like

• First 90 days: Fluent in the Atomicwork platform and story. Owning the technical strategy on 5+ strategic G2000 pursuits. First reference architecture and one flagship custom-built demo or prototype shipped.

• 6 months: A measurable lift in win rate and deal size for deals you engage in. A regular cadence of CIO roundtables and analyst briefings. Clear field-to-product feedback loop running.

• 12 months: Recognized as a leading industry voice on agentic AI for enterprise service. Directly influenced multiple seven-figure wins and land-and-expand motions. A reusable technical playbook adopted across GTM.

Why Atomicwork

• Define a new category, the AI Workforce for the enterprise, at a time when CIOs are rethinking service delivery from the ground up.

• Join early. Your impact on product, GTM and brand will be large and visible.

• Work with a team of experienced builders and enterprise sellers, backed by top-tier investors.

• Competitive compensation, including meaningful equity.
