About the Department of Social Work The Department of Social Work encompasses a new 2-year online Master of Social Work (MSW) program that offers a specialization in Culturally Informed Behavioral Health Practice (CIBH) with two tracks, practice with children and youth in school and community settings and practice with adults in public behavioral health settings. The program’s goal is to graduate students who are competent and culturally sensitive behavioral health practitioners who provide care to underserved populations in urban and rural regions of California. The MSW program is a candidate for accreditation by the Council on Social Work Education’s (CSWE) and has initiated the accreditation process for school social worker preparation with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). The program has enrolled two cohorts thus far with a total of approximately 90-100. The program’s website is: https://www.paloaltou.edu/academic-programs/master-social-work Position Description Palo Alto University invites applications for a Field Education Program Manager in our Master of Social Work (MSW) program. The role, under the coordination and supervision of the Field Education Director, provides administrative leadership and support for the Field Program. The selected candidate will be required to demonstrate knowledge and skills for providing administrative assistance for developing field placements (i.e., internships), obtaining and maintaining accreditation with CSWE and CTC, and operating an MSW field education program. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detailoriented, and committed to supporting graduate social work education. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The responsibilities described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Maintain entry and tracking of records, including those of students, alumni, agency partners, and other stakeholders. Support outreach efforts to identify and recruit new agency partnerships and field education sites. Assist with processing partnership and field education agreements with external agencies and maintaining a database of agency contacts and partnerships. Track student compliance and progress with field education requirements. Assist in planning and implementation of outreach events and presentations for field activities. Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings, including preparing agendas, taking meeting minutes, and follow-up on action items. Support the writing, editing, and formatting of accreditation and assessment reports in relation to field education. Provide general administrative support including answering inquiries, maintaining records, editing and formatting documents and databases. Composes correspondence, memos, newsletters, brochures, etc., independently or from direction by the Field Director. Other duties as assigned by the Field Director The duties and responsibilities of this faculty position are conducted remotely. The position requires working and meeting together with the social work team during business hours and working on campus several days per month. Required qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Demonstrated ability to communicate with colleagues and customers/clients/students both face-to-face and connecting online through email, video conferencing, and chat. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work or social welfare, psychology, counseling, health sciences, human services, public health, or a related field. Minimum of one year of experience in an administrative assistant role (highly preferred). Professional experience in higher education. Administrative or client services experience in public or not-for-profit behavioral health or human services agencies or community or school settings.
