About us

We are in the business of putting pets first, through formulating superior-quality and nutritionally balanced recipes that give dogs and cats happier, healthier, and longer lives. Founded in 1999, as a local BC company, Petcurean has evolved to become a globally trusted brand of premium quality pet foods. Our recipes are sold in pet specialty stores across North America, and in over 30 countries around the world. Behind our success are our people that never waver from our brand’s ultimate mission of putting pets first. Our people make us who we are and represent the true heart and soul of Petcurean.

About the Role

As our Field Marketing Specialist for Quebec, you’ll be Marketing’s eyes and ears in the region. You’ll spend your time in stores, at trade shows and in meetings with retail partners across the province, then turn what you see and hear into regional marketing plans that grow our business in Quebec.

You’ll also be the voice of Quebec on our mostly English-speaking marketing team, making sure our campaigns and packaging connect with French-speaking customers and pet parents.

The Team You’ll Be Working With:

You’ll be part of our Marketing team, reporting to the Senior Category Manager and aligning your regional plans with our category priorities. Day to day, you’ll work side by side with our Quebec Sales Team in the field and partner with our Field Marketing Manager and Coordinator at head office to bring your plans to life.

The Work You'll Be Doing:

  • Build regional marketing and promotional plans with Sales and retail partners that support our national campaigns and market goals

  • Manage the Quebec marketing budget and track the return on every activation

  • Develop co-op marketing programs with Key Accounts, including in-store displays, retail staff education, digital and social content, out-of-home advertising and direct mail

  • Plan local activations like product sampling, demos and street marketing

  • Lead planning for regional trade shows and consumer events, and be on-site to set up booths and promote our brands

  • Share what you’re seeing in the field to shape point-of-sale materials, displays and regional planograms

  • Gather and report on regional market data, consumer trends and competitor activity to inform planning and product development

  • Support the Sales Team in pitching, landing and onboarding new retail partners

  • Review French content and advise on French strategy for large projects like packaging and campaign adaptations

Skills and Qualifications We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in trade marketing, communications and/or sales

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience

  • Professional fluency in French and English, both written and spoken

  • Experience building marketing strategies tied to business goals, with a sharp eye on ROI

  • A track record of building strong, long-term partnerships with retailers, customers or internal teams

  • Comfort working with data to spot trends and make practical recommendations

  • A collaborative approach and experience working across multiple teams to plan and deliver projects

  • A strong understanding of the Quebec market and local communication style, with a natural ability to build rapport

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Additional Requirements:

  • Regular travel across Quebec (about 30% of your time), including some evenings and weekends for events

  • Fluency in English and French is required, as this role works daily with our head office marketing team and translates national campaigns developed in English into French for the local market.

What’s In It For You?

  • Remote work environment.

  • Dedicated financial resources and learning tools to support your professional development, tailored to your goals.

  • Staff Feeds program! Each month, Petcurean employees are eligible to submit an order for Petcurean products to feed the furry friends in your life.

  • Annual volunteer hours so you can give back to the community and causes that mean the most to you.

  • Comprehensive Benefits package.

  • Employee Assistance Program.

At Petcurean, our people make us who we are. Every hiring decision is made by people, not technology. While AI tools may support parts of our recruitment process, they never determine candidate outcomes. We are committed to building a diverse workforce and fostering an inclusive workplace where different perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds are welcomed, valued and respected.

We would like to thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

If this field-focused, results-driven role excites you and you want to join our fun, down-to-earth, and authentic team, reach out to us!
