Company Overview

Our client is a leading electrical infrastructure company specializing in engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of medium- and high-voltage power systems. The company serves utility, renewable energy, energy storage, industrial, and petrochemical markets. They place significant emphasis on safety, accountability, employee development, collaboration, and long-term retention. The organization seeks professionals who take pride in their work, invest in their teams, and want to develop lasting careers. Safety is central to our client's operating philosophy.

Position Summary

The Field Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and successful field execution of high-voltage electrical construction projects, including substations, transmission, distribution, and related infrastructure. This position oversees daily construction operations, project schedules, budgets, field personnel, subcontractors, materials, safety, quality, and project performance. The Field Project Manager serves as the primary on-site liaison between construction crews, subcontractors, engineering, project management, vendors, and clients. Successful candidates must demonstrate both technical construction expertise and strong field leadership, with the ability to manage demanding project environments while maintaining safety, accountability, and effective working relationships.

Our client is seeking individuals interested in contributing to the organization over the long term, not simply moving from one project assignment to another.

Primary Responsibilities

Construction and Field Operations

  • Manage daily field operations for high-voltage electrical construction projects.
  • Direct construction sequencing, workforce allocation, equipment, materials, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Oversee field execution to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements.
  • Conduct daily site coordination meetings and communicate field priorities.
  • Identify and resolve construction challenges affecting safety, quality, cost, or schedule.
  • Maintain effective relationships with field crews, subcontractors, engineering teams, and clients.

Project Management and Controls

  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment requirements, and construction resources.
  • Identify project risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide accurate project updates to Project Managers and executive leadership.

Safety and Quality

  • Enforce client's safety standards, OSHA regulations, and client-specific safety requirements.
  • Conduct safety briefings, job hazard analyses, and field safety meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.269, and applicable electrical construction standards.
  • Monitor workmanship, quality control, and compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment when safety and project schedules are in conflict.
  • Promote accountability and safe work practices throughout the project team.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Provide direction and support to field personnel and subcontractors.
  • Develop effective working relationships across construction, engineering, procurement, and project management.

  • Represent our client professionally with their clients and project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 70E and OSHA 1910.269.
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel or remain at assigned project sites as required.
