We're looking for a talented Field Service Engineer specialising in Raman Microscopy to join our Materials Analysis team and deliver exceptional support to customers across Europe. Materials Analysis is an Oxford Instruments Business Unit that manages our Electron Microscopy and Mechanical Microscopy products, Atomic Force Microscopes, Raman Microscopes and Benchtop NMR products. The Opportunity As a Field Service Engineer, you'll provide onsite and remote technical support, installations, maintenance and customer training for Oxford Instruments' advanced scientific instrumentation, with a particular focus on Raman Microscopy systems. Working directly with researchers, scientists and industrial customers, you'll play a key role in ensuring our customers achieve maximum performance from their systems. What You'll Be Doing Installing and commissioning Raman Microscopy systems across Europe Providing onsite and remote technical support Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and application-related issues Delivering preventative maintenance and repair services Conducting customer training and application support Working closely with Applications, R&D, Product Management and Sales teams Supporting new product introductions and upgrades Maintaining accurate service records and technical documentation Building trusted customer relationships and identifying service opportunities About You You'll bring: A degree in Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering or a related scientific discipline Experience supporting complex scientific instrumentation Knowledge of Raman Microscopy and associated applications Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Excellent customer-facing communication skills Fluency in German and English A willingness to travel extensively throughout Europe Why Oxford Instruments?
