This position reports to:
Field Service Team Leader__
In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.
The work model for the role is: Hybrid with up to 75% Travel Required and a home location in MO, TX, OK, TN or AL.
Your role and responsibilities:
- Operate company vehicles equipped with methane/ethane sensors and specialized equipment to identify and locate potential natural gas emissions across assigned survey areas.
- Use detection data to conduct on-foot surveys, detect emissions, grade findings, and log results with precision and thoroughness.
- Provide flexible coverage and support across all four service regions (Kansas City MO, St. Louis MO, Birmingham AL, and Gulf Coast AL) to balance workload, cover vacations, and meet contracted survey commitments.
- Work directly with gas utility customers to identify and solve operational issues. Deliver exceptional customer service and communication regarding service timelines and expectations.
- Provide expert technical support in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues. Conduct data analysis to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
- Perform hands-on field service tasks, including installations, repairs, preventative maintenance, and unplanned maintenance of ABB equipment.
- Record findings, create detailed technical reports, and maintain comprehensive documentation of all field activities and customer interactions.
- Complete field service reports, timesheets, expense reports, and other required documentation in a timely and thorough manner.

Qualifications for the role:
- High School Diploma/GED is required
- 1+ Years of field experience in a customer facing technical support role is required
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% as required.
- Ability and willingness to possess and maintain valid passport and driver's license.
- Prior experience in the natural gas utility industry, with a focus on sustainability initiatives, technological innovations, and regulatory compliance, is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to cultivate strong customer relationships and adeptly convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated and capacity to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams, including Research & Development, Product Management, Sales, and Business Development. Have good interpersonal skills, with an aptitude for teamwork.
- Proficiency in using computers and relevant software is required; Must pass an evaluation to become Operator Qualified. The successful candidate will be trained and given opportunities to pass these tasks and become operator qualified.
- Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
