About the Opportunity:

The FIELD SERVICES ENGINEER role is pivotal in deploying and maintaining advanced autonomous vehicle technology across diverse customer sites. This position ensures effective installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of equipment, directly impacting the reliability and performance of the company's autonomous systems in real-world operations.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical and mechanical scoping of construction and mining equipment.
  • Install hardware and software solutions including sensor systems, drive-by-wire kits, power integration, and vehicle interfaces onsite.
  • Install peripheral hardware such as network stations, gate systems, and office infrastructure.
  • Conduct system calibrations and validation tests to meet operational standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and customer teams for deployment alignment and training.
  • Participate in research and development projects alongside engineering.
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability.
  • Monitor equipment conditions and identify potential issues.
  • Diagnose and repair hardware, software, and connectivity problems.
  • Use diagnostic tools to determine root causes and apply repairs minimizing downtime.
  • Communicate findings to engineering for ongoing improvements.
  • Provide onsite customer support, including basic training.
  • Document service activities in internal systems.


Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in field service, automotive electronics, or technical support.
  • Proficient with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and electrical testing.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems including power, CAN bus, sensors, and ECUs.
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in field environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%.
  • Based in Arizona, Florida, Texas, or Wyoming.


Preferred:

  • Experience with autonomous vehicle systems, heavy equipment, machine control, robotics, or complex sensor integrations.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems and remote diagnostics.
  • OSHA 10 or equivalent safety certification.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capable of extended periods of standing, bending, and working around vehicles.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.


Pay Range and Compensation Package:

  • The base salary range for this role is $110,000-$165,000 per year and varies by location.
  • Actual compensation depends on experience, skills, and qualifications.
  • Eligibility for equity awards.
