Joulz Belgium | Finance & Portfolio Management | Brussels

Open to junior and early-career candidates. The scope and level of responsibility will be tailored to your experience and development potential.

Are you looking for a place where trust comes first, where there is room to grow and where your contribution makes a visible difference? As Finance & Accounting Analyst at Joulz Belgium you get the opportunity to take ownership of core finance and accounting processes, bring structure and transparency, and progressively grow into a central finance role within the Belgian organisation.

This is Joulz

Every day at Joulz, we work on reliable and future-proof energy solutions for organisations that simply have to keep running. In a sector that never stands still, we make complexity clear and we take responsibility: for our customers and for each other.

Joulz Belgium helps industrial, logistics and commercial companies reduce energy costs, increase energy independence and accelerate their sustainability ambitions. We develop, build, finance and operate tailored, integrated energy solutions. Today we manage a portfolio of more than 100 MWp of solar assets, and we keep expanding.

What defines working at Joulz?

A combination of craftsmanship, trust and a start-up mentality. You get the space to take initiative, and to keep developing yourself. We work together in an informal, professional atmosphere where involvement is a given and where everyone's contribution counts. As a small and growing team, we offer a hands-on environment where your contribution has visible impact from day one.

Where you make an impact

What you will make possible for the Belgian organisation.

In this role:

· You take ownership of recurring finance administration and accounting follow-up, creating a reliable basis for further professionalisation

· You help standardise and automate recurring finance processes so they become efficient, controlled and scalable

· You support monthly performance reporting and the annual budget cycle, progressively building stronger controlling capabilities

· You grow into a key finance contact for the Belgian organisation, with increasing ownership as your knowledge and experience develop

This is what you'll pick up

The tasks that will actually fill your day.

· You prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and on time

· You monitor incoming payments, reconcile payment status and follow up overdue receivables in a structured and professional way

· You support month-end activities and verify the completeness and consistency of financial information

· You prepare recurring performance reporting and explain key deviations against budget, forecast and prior periods

· You contribute to the annual budget and forecasting process by gathering assumptions, challenging inputs and consolidating outputs

· You translate recurring manual work into standardised workflows, clear ownership and, where useful, automation

How the role develops

This is not intended to remain a purely administrative position. The first priority is to secure and structure the operational finance base. From there, you will progressively take on more analytical, controlling and business-partnering responsibilities. The exact pace depends on your experience, performance and ability to build robust processes.

Who you'll work with (and why that works)

The colleagues around you and how you get results together.

You report to the Head of Portfolio & Strategic Partnerships and work closely with the Belgian team, colleagues in the Netherlands, external accountants and other professional partners. Because the Belgian perimeter is relatively compact, you will gain exposure to the full finance cycle and see directly how your work affects operational and commercial decisions. At Joulz we believe in doing it together, helping each other out and communicating clearly.

What you can expect from us

Terms, freedom and development opportunities.

You make an impact, and we reward you with:

· A competitive compensation package aligned with your experience

· A broad finance role with exposure to accounting, working capital, reporting, budgeting, controlling and process improvement

· Coaching and development tailored to your experience, with the opportunity to grow from operational finance ownership into a central finance position

· A manageable business perimeter in which you can understand the full picture and make a visible difference

· Flexible and hybrid working arrangements supporting a healthy work-life balance

· An entrepreneurial environment with modern tools and room to shape the way we work

· An office base in Brussels, with occasional travel for meetings in Belgium and the Netherlands

What you bring in energy & expertise

Skills, mindset and how you approach finance.

· A bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration or a related field

· Strong motivation to build a career in finance, accounting and controlling

· An accurate and structured way of working

· Strong analytical skills and a good affinity with numbers and Excel

· Curiosity to understand how a business works and how financial information supports decision-making

· The ambition to continuously improve processes and ways of working

· Good communication skills and the confidence to engage with colleagues, customers and suppliers

· Familiarity with Microsoft 365, accounting software or Power BI is a plus, but not a requirement

· Fluent in Dutch or French and professionally proficient in English
