Finance Assistant – Placement

Aspect Capital is an award-winning systematic hedge fund based in London. We manage over $9 billion of client assets.

The Role:
This role is available to placement students for 13 months from summer 2027 until summer 2028. Working as a key member of the Corporate Accounting Team within Finance, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of Aspect’s Accounts Payable function.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to, and a thorough understanding of, how a Finance function works within an exciting and forward-thinking company, with the chance to apply AI and automation to real finance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing payment cycle activities and weekly payment runs in a timely and efficient manner across multiple legal entities
• Working with the Finance team and suppliers to efficiently resolve queries
• Recording Accounts Payable transactions in the general ledger using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Identifying opportunities to document, improve, and streamline processes, including using automation and AI tools to reduce manual effort and increase efficiency
• Supporting senior members of the Finance team with budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and ad hoc analysis/tasks
• Supporting an effective handover to the incoming placement student at the end of the placement

Your Experience:

• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• A passion for AI and automation, and a curiosity to find more efficient ways of working
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook is advantageous but not essential
• A genuine interest in pursuing a career in finance or accountancy
