This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on how Finance operates, while developing your exposure across financial reporting, FP&A and business partnering.

About your new Role!

Reporting to the FP&A Manager, this is a broad Finance Business Partner position combining hands-on financial accounting and reporting with commercial analysis, insights and business partnering.

A key initial focus will be taking ownership of the month-end and reporting process. You will be expected to get into the detail, understand the current processes and identify opportunities to streamline, automate and improve how reporting is delivered.

As these processes become more efficient, you will have greater capacity to focus on the value-add component of the role, partnering with senior stakeholders, preparing reporting packs, analysing performance and providing meaningful insights to support decision making.

Key responsibilities include:

• Own the end-to-end month-end and financial reporting process, including transaction processing and balance sheet reconciliations
• Review and improve existing month-end and reporting processes to create greater efficiency
• Identify opportunities to utilise systems, automation and technology to simplify and improve Finance processes
• Prepare management, Executive and Board reporting packs with meaningful commentary and insights
• Analyse financial and operational performance, identifying key trends, risks and opportunities
• Partner with operational and senior stakeholders to understand performance and support better commercial decision making
• Lead budgeting and forecasting processes across the Australian business
• Provide financial modelling and analysis to support key business initiatives
• Improve the quality and efficiency of management reporting across the organisation
• Challenge existing processes and assumptions and contribute to the continued development of the Finance function

About You!

This role will suit someone who enjoys the combination of being hands-on with the numbers while also having the capability to step back, understand what they mean and communicate meaningful insights to the business.

You will ideally have:

• CA/CPA qualification or a strong equivalent accounting background
• Experience across both financial accounting/reporting and finance business partnering
• Strong month-end and management reporting capability, with a willingness to remain hands-on
• Experience preparing management reporting packs and translating financial results into meaningful insights
• Demonstrated experience improving Finance processes rather than simply working within established processes
• Strong systems capability with an interest in using technology and automation to improve efficiency
• Experience across budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to partner effectively with both Finance and non-finance stakeholders
• Experience working within a complex, agile or evolving organisation
• A proactive and inquisitive mindset with the ability to identify problems, challenge existing processes and implement better ways of working
• Experience with Workday Adaptive, Power BI or similar systems will be highly regarded but not essential.
