The Organisation
Our client is a leading public health service in Melbourne, providing care to a large and diverse community. The organisation is focused on improving how patients are cared for and, ultimately, on better health outcomes. Finance plays a central role in making that sustainable through a significant period of growth.
The Role
This is a partnering role for an experienced FBP who is at their best outside the finance team. You’ll be the trusted financial adviser to senior clinical and operational leaders, helping people who don’t think in spreadsheets understand their numbers, weigh up trade-offs and make better decisions.
The role is highly visible across the organisation, and its scope will grow as the organisation does. Whoever is appointed will have real room to shape how finance supports the business.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the go-to finance partner for senior clinical, operational and divisional leaders, turning financial data into clear, practical insight
- Influence decisions on activity, workforce, service models and cost, challenging and guiding where needed
- Lead budgeting and rolling forecasts for your portfolio, working with the FP&A Manager and getting genuine ownership from budget holders
- Build driver-based models that link operational activity to financial outcomes
- Produce monthly performance reporting and present key metrics and commentary to the executive team
- Drive cross-functional initiatives that improve efficiency and financial sustainability
- Keep improving processes, reporting and how budget holders use financial information
About You
- CA/CPA qualified, with 3+ years’ experience in a business partnering role
- A proven record of partnering with non-finance stakeholders, ideally clinical, operational or frontline leaders
- Confident influencing senior people and challenging constructively when needed
- Able to explain complex financial information simply, in writing and in person
- Strong modelling and forecasting skills, combined with commercial judgement
- Public health or broader healthcare experience is highly regarded but not essential. Strong partnering experience from other complex, people-heavy organisations will be considered.
What’s On Offer
- Up to $145,000 package (incl. super) plus additional salary packaging benefits
- $2,500 meal and entertainment allowance
- 7.5 weeks’ annual leave
- Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, 2 from home
- A high-visibility role in a growing organisation, with strong internal career pathways
