About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Finance Process Documentation Specialist / R2R Consultant to support our client’s finance team during their critical year-end close.
In this role, you will observe live finance operations, map out end-to-end accounting workflows, and design comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and knowledge-transfer materials. You will work closely with Finance Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate complex close activities into clear, structured documentation with high autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Observation: Shadow and observe Finance teams in real time during the critical year-end close window.
- Process Mapping & Capture: Document accounting activities, detailed process steps, internal controls, system dependencies, and cross-team hand-offs.
- SOP & Documentation Development: Author clear, standardized, and user-friendly Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process maps.
- Knowledge Transfer: Create supporting training assets, guides, and handover documentation to enable long-term operational resilience.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage directly with Finance SMEs to resolve process ambiguities and clarify steps, working effectively with minimal client oversight.
Candidate Profile
- Accounting & R2R Expertise: Solid background in general accounting or Record to Report (R2R), with a deep understanding of month-end and year-end close cycles.
- Core Accounting Knowledge: Hands-on experience across key areas such as General Ledger (GL), manual journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals/prepayments, intercompany accounting, or financial reporting.
- Documentation Skills: Proven track record in process mapping, drafting SOPs, process observation, or knowledge-transfer projects.
- Soft Skills: Outstanding analytical thinking, structured communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Language & Mobility: Fluent English (C1 or higher, spoken and written) and readiness to travel from Poland to Manchester, UK during designated year-end close periods.
Working Model & Travel Requirements
- Primary location: Poland (remote-first).
- On-site presence: Required on-site at the client’s office in Manchester, UK specifically during key year-end close milestones.
