Company Overview Leading Global Genetic Research Services Company Job Description A globally recognized genetic research services company is seeking a Finance Manager to join its Japan operations. This role will play a key part in supporting senior leadership and contributing to business-critical financial reporting and strategic planning efforts. As Finance Manager, you will oversee financial reporting, planning, and accounting operations in compliance with JGAAP. This position requires flexibility, initiative, and hands-on experience to navigate a dynamic business environment and support both strategic and routine financial functions. Key Responsibilities: Financial Planning & Analysis Prepare monthly highlights and management reporting materials (e.g., slides, summaries) Assist with budget creation, P&L forecasting, and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) development Conduct KPI trend analysis (%B, %G, %FCT) across revenue, COGS, expenses, and CAPEX Accounting Operations Maintain and manage accounting procedures in compliance with JGAAP Oversee monthly/annual closing, daily approvals, and reporting tasks Coordinate tax filings and external reporting Handle select routine tasks such as inventory valuation and reserve calculations Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years’ experience in financial reporting, ideally in a manufacturing or scientific environment Strong knowledge of JGAAP and financial planning processes Native-level Japanese and business-level English Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; familiarity with ERP systems, Power BI, and OLAP tools is a plus Hands-on, collaborative leadership style with strong communication and analytical skills Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask under pressure, and work independently in a fast-paced setting Motivated, insightful, and values-driven—committed to integrity, teamwork, and innovation Benefits Hybrid work flexibility Opportunity to work at a mission-driven, globally recognized life sciences company Supportive, values-based team culture focused on innovation and excellence ​Meaningful career growth in a company driving breakthroughs in biomedical research
