Are you passionate about travel and excited by the opportunity to combine your financial expertise with a purpose-driven business? At Intrepid, we believe travel can be a force for good, and we’re looking for a Finance Manager who can help us grow sustainably while supporting our teams and operations across South America.
As the Finance Manager, you’ll oversee financial control, accounting coordination and financial operations for Intrepid’s Destination Management Company (DMC), which operates trips across Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay, with Chile as your base. This is a key role that brings together financial expertise, operational management, and business partnering to ensure financial accuracy, strong controls, and sustainable business growth.
You’ll be responsible for financial controlling, accounting oversight and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow and working capital management, and tax compliance. You’ll coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors while working closely with the General Manager and our Sales, Procurement and Operations teams. Through analyzing costs, pricing, margins, and profitability, you’ll provide financial insights that support commercial decisions, improve operational efficiency, and identify opportunities for growth.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Santiago, Chile office, with a hybrid working arrangement requiring you to work from the office three days per week.
A passion for travel is a must-have! With it you’ll bring:
-
University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
-
Proven experience in financial controlling and accounting.
-
Strong knowledge of taxation and Chilean accounting practices.
-
Experience coordinating financial operations across Argentina and Brazil, including working with local partners and understanding country-specific requirements.
-
Mandatory experience in tourism, travel, hospitality or destination management companies (DMCs), with an understanding of supplier costs, pricing structures, operating margins, and tourism business models.
-
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
-
Professional fluency in both Spanish and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
-
Experience with complex accounting systems and other financial software, alongside advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
-
A proactive, hands-on approach, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across teams.
It would be a bonus, if you could also bring:
-
CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
-
Five or more years of experience in an accounting or finance role, with strong compliance knowledge and commercial acumen.
-
Practical experience in finance and accounting within a foreign-invested business.
-
Experience in the adventure travel sector.
-
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and IBM Planning Analytics (TM1).
