Who we are

Antoniq Robotics is harnessing the power of Physical AI to shape the future and sustainability of agriculture.

We're building one of the most advanced AI and hardware systems on the planet — embodied AI for agriculture: robots that perceive, decide, and act in demanding, real-world environments.

We are an early-stage startup based in Porto. Joining now means working directly with the founders, having real impact from day one, and growing with the company at every stage.

The role

Antoniq Robotics is harnessing the power of Physical AI to shape the future and sustainability of agriculture.

We're building one of the most advanced AI and hardware systems on the planet — embodied AI for agriculture: robots that perceive, decide, and act in demanding, real-world environments.

We are an early-stage startup based in Porto. Joining now means working directly with the founders, having real impact from day one, and growing with the company at every stage.

What you'll do

  • Budgeting and spend tracking: maintain the company budget and follow actuals against it by team and project, from hardware components and prototyping costs to software, travel, and payroll. Flag variances early, with a short explanation attached.
  • Cash forecasting: build and update the rolling cash forecast, bringing together expected payments, supplier commitments, hiring plans, and funding inflows, so the founders always know the runway and what could change it.
  • Payables, receipts, and expenses: keep the financial paperwork moving, from supplier invoices and payment runs to expense claims and document filing, so nothing is late, duplicated, or missing at month end.
  • Accounting and compliance coordination: work with our external accountants and advisors on monthly inputs, VAT and tax deadlines, and payroll data, and check that the books reflect what actually happened.
  • Monthly reporting: produce a clear finance pack covering cash position, burn, and budget versus actual for the leadership team and, as the company grows, for external stakeholders.
  • Company administration: keep the paperwork a growing company collects under control, such as contracts and renewals, insurance, subscriptions, and corporate records, with simple trackers and clear owners.

Strategic Projects

Beyond the monthly rhythm, you will contribute to the projects that build the financial foundations of the company. The leadership team sets the direction; you will build and maintain much of the work behind it, and take on more ownership as you grow into the role.

  • Investor materials: prepare what investors ask for, from financial summaries and KPI packs to data-room documents, with clean data and a clear source behind every number.
  • Business plan model: build and maintain our business plan model, and keep it current as the product, the team, and the plan evolve.
  • Scenarios and assumptions: test different business plan scenarios and assumptions, such as the pace of hiring, the timing of a prototype build, or the timing of a funding round, and show the founders clearly what each one does to the runway.
  • Financial research: run the financial research that supports strategic decisions, from cost and supplier comparisons to funding options and market benchmarks.
  • Finance processes and AI: design the finance processes and templates we will rely on as we scale, and find the places where AI and automation can take manual work out of finance.
  • Work beyond finance: as the company grows, take on work beyond the pure finance scope, helping the team wherever structure and numbers are needed.

About you

You are careful with numbers and relaxed about ambiguity. You like the moment a messy set of invoices, bank lines, and assumptions turns into a forecast someone can act on, and you notice when something does not add up before anyone asks. You are equally happy building a model from a blank sheet and chasing a missing receipt, because you know both matter, and you are comfortable picking up work beyond your job description as the company grows.

You have spent several years in finance, accounting, audit, or a finance-adjacent operations role, and you want more scope than a larger organisation would give you at this stage. You are structured, you document what you build so that others can pick it up, and you ask early when something is unclear instead of guessing.

You want to build something that matters. Joining a small team early in its journey, with a direct line to the founders and real responsibility from the start, is what excites you about this opportunity.

What we're looking for

Required

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, audit, or finance operations. Ideal backgrounds include a finance or accounting role at an early-stage company, an FP&A or controlling position, or an audit or advisory background with a clear appetite for hands-on work.
  • Advanced Excel: you build and maintain structured, auditable models with confidence, using lookups, pivot tables, and scenario tabs, and you can explain how they work to someone else.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and financial modelling, even at small scale, including testing scenarios, and the judgement to know which assumptions matter most.
  • Solid working knowledge of day-to-day finance operations: payables, receipts, expense processing, bank reconciliation, and inputs to the monthly close.
  • Excellent written and spoken English: all company communication and documentation is in English.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail, a record of meeting recurring deadlines such as month end, and the ability to prioritise independently when the brief is incomplete.
  • An AI-native working style. We are building an AI-first company and use AI tools across every function. We expect everyone we hire to work the same way.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a hardware, manufacturing, or deep tech environment, where spend is lumpy and tied to milestones.
  • Working Portuguese and familiarity with local accounting and tax practice (VAT, SAF-T, payroll basics): useful for day-to-day work with accountants, banks, and authorities.
  • Familiarity with accounting, invoicing, or expense management software.
  • Exposure to investor reporting, fundraising processes, or due diligence requests.
  • Additional languages: French or Spanish are useful in our network.
  • Interest in AgTech, robotics, or deep tech: a bonus, not a requirement.

What we Offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience and the Porto market.
  • Stock options
  • Hybrid work in Porto, with flexibility in how and where you work.
  • Direct collaboration with the founders from day one: no bureaucracy, no layers.
  • Real scope from the start. You will be part of the early team, and this role is built to grow with you.
  • Work that matters: applying robotics and AI to some of the hardest challenges in sustainable agriculture.
  • Fast career trajectory: the people who help build Antoniq at this stage will have first access to leadership opportunities as the company scales.
