Finance Reporting Manager

The Role and the Team

Blue Light Card is growing across the UK and Australia, backed by investors and lenders who rely on clear, trustworthy numbers to support the next stage of our story. Our finance team sits at the heart of that, turning a multi-entity business into one reliable picture that everyone can understand and depend on.

As Finance Reporting Manager, you will own the reporting that our Board, investors and lenders rely on, from the monthly and annual consolidation through to year end and the external audit. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will guide the financial accountants and act as the technical voice on group accounting, working closely with the Financial Controller and Finance Director.

The role is designed to grow with you. For someone with the capability and appetite, there is room to broaden into treasury, tax, controls and more senior stakeholder work over time.

What You'll Do

  • Own the monthly and annual consolidation across the UK and Australian entities, including intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation and group adjustments.

  • Prepare lender and investor reporting packs with clear commentary, along with covenant compliance calculations, flagging any headroom risks early.

  • Run the year-end close and prepare the consolidated statutory accounts and disclosure notes under IFRS for review.

  • Manage the day-to-day audit workstream as a main working contact for the external auditors, tracking prior-year points so fixes stick.

  • Draft and maintain position papers on judgemental areas such as revenue recognition, capitalised development costs, leases and share-based payments, documenting the reasoning clearly.

  • Drive the accounting maturity roadmap, strengthening controls and improving the speed and reliability of the close through better processes, systems and practical use of AI.

  • Produce the cashflow forecast alongside Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and FP&A, and support treasury, FX and tax activity with our advisers.

  • Coach and develop the financial accounting team, creating stretch opportunities and building capability, and deputise for the Financial Controller as required.

What You'll Bring

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, with extensive post-qualification experience gained through a Big 4 or mid-tier technical accounting background and recent industry roles.

  • Strong IFRS knowledge and experience of multi-entity, multi-currency consolidations.

  • A significant role in an external audit and year end in industry.

  • Experience of line managing accountants and helping them grow.

  • The ability to explain technical positions clearly to non-finance colleagues and to auditors.

  • Confidence with large data sets and Excel, and comfort using systems and AI to remove manual work.

  • Leadership potential and an appetite to broaden into treasury, tax, controls and senior stakeholder work.

  • Experience in a PE-backed or listed business, or hands-on use of Business Central, Caseware or DataRails, would be a bonus, but is not essential.

Our Culture

Our mission is simple: make heroes happy. Our members are real-life heroes who keep us all safe, cared for, and thriving. It's what gets us up in the morning, what makes us want to think bigger, and create something that truly matters. By focusing on their happiness, we create amazing experiences, deliver unrivalled discounts, innovative products, and world-class service.

We don't just follow the usual path - we look for smarter, bolder ways to deliver real impact. We take ownership, move fast, and work shoulder to shoulder to build something special.

We promote hybrid working, and value in-person collaboration so encourage time in our offices – either the HQ in Leicestershire, or London, Holborn office. The frequency and office location will vary depending on the role and team. We aim to be flexible, but we aren't able to offer fully remote working.

Blue Light Card is an equal opportunities employer. We're committed to building a diverse and inclusive team where different perspectives and experiences help us grow, innovate, and better reflect the communities we serve. We make recruiting decisions based on your experience and skills. In the event of a high number of applications, we'll prioritise candidates who meet both the essential and desirable criteria for the role.
