About SDG Group
SDG Group is an international consulting firm specializing in Data, Analytics and AI, helping organizations turn data into business value. We work with clients across industries and markets as part of the ALTEN Group.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a hands-on US Finance Lead based in Mexico City to take ownership of financial controlling and performance management for SDG’s US business. Reporting directly to the Group CFO, you will partner with US business leaders, turn financial information into actionable insights and help protect profitability and cash generation. The role also provides business support and selected controlling activities for our smaller Mexico operation, without full-country finance ownership. You will supervise one team member supporting billing and finance operations and coordinate with external accounting and advisory providers.
Key Responsibilities
· Financial Planning & Performance: Own the US budget, rolling forecast and monthly performance reviews; analyze P&L, revenue, costs, margins, cash flow and variances against plan.
· Project Profitability & Commercial Finance: Monitor project-level profitability, utilization, delivery economics and key consulting KPIs; support pricing, proposals and contract reviews from a financial perspective.
· Business Partnering: Work closely with US leadership and Group Finance to challenge assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and support sound commercial and operational decisions.
· Accounting & Tax Coordination: Act as the main finance point of contact for the external accounting and tax advisors. Coordinate month-end close, financial statements, tax compliance and Group reporting; review outputs for consistency and completeness, follow up on open items and escalate technical matters to the relevant specialists.
· Billing & Finance Operations: Manage and support one direct report responsible for billing and administrative activities. Maintain oversight of billing processes, revenue recognition and receivables, ensuring reliable information flows and timely resolution of issues without directly managing day-to-day billing.
· Mexico Business Support: Provide financial analysis, business support and selected controlling activities for SDG Mexico, coordinating with local and Group stakeholders as needed.
· Cross-Border Coordination: Liaise with US business teams, external advisors and Group Finance on intercompany matters, audit requests, payroll-related coordination and financial processes.
· Process Improvement: Improve reporting, financial models, controls and workflows; contribute to Group-wide finance and systems initiatives.
Your Profile
· 7+ years of experience in finance, including substantial hands-on experience in controlling or FP&A; ideally in consulting, IT or professional services.
· Strong command of P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, project margins, financial reporting and cash flow.
· Experience supporting US operations or working in a multinational, cross-border environment; working knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition is a strong advantage.
· Comfortable acting as the business-facing counterpart to outsourced accounting and tax advisors, with sufficient accounting knowledge to review outputs, ask the right questions and escalate specialist matters. Able to manage a small billing and administration function.
· Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and BI/reporting tools.
· Fluent professional English and Spanish, with the confidence to engage directly with senior business leaders.
· Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field; proactive, rigorous and able to balance strategic insight with execution.
Why Join Us
A visible international finance role with direct exposure to senior leadership, ownership of the US financial agenda, and opportunities to contribute to global initiatives. Compensation and local benefits will be discussed during the recruitment process.
