The opportunity

We’re looking for a Financial Accountant to join our EMEA Finance team in Hatfield. You’ll take ownership of financial accounting support for our Benelux businesses while also contributing across other European affiliates and UK entities. You’ll work with colleagues across Finance and the wider organisation, helping us deliver accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting.

We know that people bring different experiences, perspectives and career journeys. If this opportunity interests you and you meet most, but perhaps not every, requirement below, we’d still encourage you to apply.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting monthly financial reporting and annual statutory accounts
  • Managing audit activity for our Benelux entities
  • Supporting tax, VAT and other statutory reporting
  • Supporting month-end close, including journals, reconciliations, inventory, sales and cost of goods sold
  • Maintaining strong balance sheet controls
  • Supporting fixed asset and prepayment accounting
  • Helping develop effective financial controls, procedures and standard operating procedures
  • Producing cash flow and cash forecast information
  • Building collaborative relationships with colleagues across European Finance, FP&A, Compliance, Treasury and Internal Audit

What you'll bring

  • You’ll be an experienced accountant with a recognised accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, alongside knowledge of statutory accounting, local GAAP and IFRS.
  • Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence working with Excel and financial systems
  • An understanding of SAP or an equivalent system
  • The ability to communicate financial information clearly to financial and non-financial colleagues
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build positive working relationships
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to balance different priorities
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical industry would be helpful, but it isn’t essential.

Why join us?

You’ll be joining an international finance environment where you can work with colleagues across different countries and areas of the business. The role offers hybrid working and flexible working hours from our Hatfield location.
