KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As Financial Accountant, you will own the month-end close, balance sheet, compliance and core financial controls across our retail, online and wholesale channels, working closely with our Head of Finance to support the commercial decisions behind new store openings and international expansion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As Financial Accountant, you will own the month-end close, balance sheet, compliance and core financial controls across our retail, online and wholesale channels, working closely with our Head of Finance to support the commercial decisions behind new store openings and international expansion.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the month-end close and delivering monthly management accounts with clear, insightful variance commentary.
- Keeping every balance sheet account supported and accurate, including reviewing and signing off reconciliations.
- Owning inventory and COGS accounting, from stock valuation, provisions and landed cost to stocktakes with Supply Chain and Retail Operations.
- Making sure revenue is recorded accurately across retail, ecommerce and wholesale, including returns, gift cards, BNPL and gateway fees.
- Preparing BAS, PAYG withholding, FBT and payroll tax for lodgement, and partnering with our external tax agent, accountants and auditors through year end.
- Supporting budgets, rolling and cash flow forecasts, and business cases for new stores, international expansion and margin reviews.
- Strengthening financial controls and the fixed asset register, and leading improvements to our finance systems and integrations, including Xero, Shopify and POS.
- Guiding and developing our Assistant Accountant through day-to-day prioritisation, training and feedback.

The ideal candidate will also have:
- CA or CPA qualification, or be nearing completion.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in commercial finance or public accounting, including end-to-end month-end and BAS preparation.
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and tax obligations.
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and analysis.
- Hands-on Xero experience (essential), with exposure to Shopify, POS or inventory systems highly regarded.
- Experience supervising, reviewing or mentoring junior team members.
- Retail, ecommerce or inventory-based business experience (highly regarded), and exposure to budgeting, forecasting or multi-entity/multi-currency accounting (desirable).
