Financial Accountant (Newly Qualified)

Finance | Dublin | Permanent

About Life Scientific

Life Scientific operates in a $250 billion global crop protection market.

We reverse-engineer off-patent products and deliver them with the same quality, safety and performance as the original - operating across multiple countries, currencies and regulatory environments.

As we scale internationally, complexity increases.

More entities.
More intercompany.
More inventory.
More moving parts.

Our Finance team is not a reporting function.

It is an enabling function.

And we are growing it deliberately.

The Opportunity

This role exists because we are expanding.

Not replacing. Building.

As a financial accountant, you will join a high-performing, commercially engaged finance team supporting a multi-entity, multi-currency business.

This is not a narrow ledger role.

You will gain exposure across:

  • Group reporting

  • Technical accounting

  • Audit

  • Tax compliance

  • Budgeting & forecasting

  • Cross-functional business partnering

You will work closely with senior leadership and operational teams - embedding financial clarity into a business that is moving quickly.

We are open to candidates from 1–5 years PQE.

What matters most is not just experience - but mindset.

This role is for you if you…

You enjoy structure - but don’t hide behind it.

You care about the integrity of the general ledger.

You instinctively question reconciling items that don’t feel right.

You can explain complex accounting clearly to non-finance colleagues.

You want to understand the business behind the numbers.

You’re comfortable operating in a multi-entity environment where intercompany and consolidation matter.

You don’t wait to be told what’s wrong - you go looking for it.

You are ambitious - and see this as a stepping stone into broader finance leadership.

You prefer building something in a scaling company over maintaining something static.

What You’ll Own

Financial Reporting & Ledger Integrity

  • Lead preparation of monthly and quarterly management reporting packs

  • Maintain general ledger integrity across multiple entities (accruals, deferrals, intercompany, reclasses)

  • Support group consolidation activities in a multi-currency environment

  • Ensure reporting is accurate, structured and delivered on time

Audit & Compliance

  • Own key elements of statutory audit preparation

  • Liaise directly with external auditors

  • Manage VAT, Intrastat and related compliance filings

  • Ensure adherence to IFRS / FRS 102 accounting standards

Commercial & Operational Support

  • Partner with Supply Chain, R&D and Commercial teams

  • Provide financial insight supporting operational decision-making

  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting cycles

  • Support analysis that informs growth and investment decisions

Process & Scale

  • Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives

  • Strengthen controls as the business grows

  • Support and mentor junior finance colleagues

What You Bring

You are a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).

You bring:

  • 1–5 years’ PQE

  • Strong grounding in technical accounting principles (IFRS / FRS 102)

  • Experience in multi-entity, multi-currency environments (group consolidation exposure is highly valuable)

  • Comfort operating in a deadline-driven, fast-paced setting

  • Clear communication skills - able to explain financial matters simply

Highly beneficial:

  • Audit training from a recognised practice

  • Exposure to manufacturing, stock or inventory environments

  • Experience working within ERP systems

But more important than background:

You are curious.
Structured.
Commercially aware.
And motivated to grow beyond traditional accounting boundaries.

What Success Looks Like

Within 18–36 months, you will have:

  • Strengthened ledger control and reporting clarity across entities

  • Built credibility with senior leadership and operational teams

  • Played a visible role in audit and compliance cycles

  • Contributed meaningfully to budgeting and forecasting

  • Positioned yourself for broader responsibility within Finance

Why Join Life Scientific?

Because this is not a static reporting role.

It is a growth role.

You will:

  • Gain exposure across technical, operational and commercial finance

  • Work in a flat, fast-moving structure

  • Have visibility with senior leadership

  • Help shape processes in a scaling international business

Life Scientific is building deliberately.

And this role is part of that build.

If you want early-career breadth, real responsibility and the chance to grow within a business that is scaling internationally - this is your platform.
