Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. These guidelines apply to roles approved for remote work and are subject to change, based on managerial discretion and work performance. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (for example: emergencies, training, or other business needs) or should the policy change.
The Regulatory Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting the Team Leader, Regulatory Financial Analysis (RFA) in the development and preparation of financial analysis and regulatory compliance support associated with transmission service revenue requirements and rate design. This includes cost recovery related initiatives and financial and contractual support associated with transmission interconnection and support agreements, related regulatory filings, settlement activities, competitive bid transmission solicitations, and other strategic transmission initiatives.
Essential Functions
- Prepares and/or reviews financial analysis and regulatory compliance support to accommodate new, or updates to existing, transmission contract revenue requirements and rate design.
- Develops financial and regulatory support for transmission related service and support agreements.
- Provide financial and regulatory support associated with competitive transmission solicitations and other strategic transmission development initiatives.
- Contribute to supporting other Regulatory Financial Analysis initiatives, as requested, in negotiating, administering, and billing of transmission related contracts on behalf of Eversource electric operating companies.
- Supports regulatory financial projects as necessary.
- Collaborates effectively with several key business areas on a variety of transmission related regulatory financial activities.
- Keeps Team Leader informed of issues, impediments, and progress.
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Strong knowledge of finance, utility accounting and regulation
- Experience in regulatory financial concepts such as revenue requirements and rate making theory is desirable.
- Financial modeling experience is preferred.
- Possess the aptitude to draw sound business conclusions, act decisively and drive business results.
- Ability to effectively direct multiple and competing priorities and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strategic mindset: ability to see the big picture and provide effective direction.
- Focus on innovation; continually and consistently challenge the status quo.
- Self-motivated, attention to detail and strong desire to learn.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in utility regulatory finance, accounting, or a related field required.
Licenses & Certifications:
- CPA or industry specific designation(s) preferred.
