Financial Controller

The Financial Controller will be responsible for leading and overseeing the company’s financial and accounting management within a Free Trade Zone environment, ensuring the integrity and reliability of financial information, compliance with applicable tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements, as well as the proper management of the organization’s financial resources.

The position will be responsible for strengthening internal controls, overseeing accounting and financial processes, preparing and analyzing reports to support decision-making, and ensuring compliance with obligations before the relevant regulatory authorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the organization’s financial and accounting operations.
• Ensure the accurate preparation and presentation of financial statements and management reports.
• Lead and ensure an efficient monthly and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established deadlines.
• Analyze financial results, budget variances, costs, margins, and key performance indicators.
• Prepare and monitor the annual budget, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Oversee cash flow, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and working capital.
• Oversee and ensure proper accounting control of inventory and manufacturing costs.
• Analyze production costs, cost variances, margins, and operational performance.
• Maintain a strong connection between financial information and production, inventory, purchasing, and other business operations.
• Design, implement, and strengthen financial and accounting internal controls.
• Oversee monthly and annual accounting closing processes.
• Coordinate internal and external audit processes.
• Prepare financial reports for Senior Management and the corporate headquarters.
• Identify financial and accounting risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Supervise, develop, and support the financial and accounting team.

Schedule & Benefits

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days onsite and 2 days remote

Salary: USD $5,000.00 per month + additional benefits

Location: San Pedro de Macorís

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or other relevant credentials are highly valued.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial, accounting, or financial controlling positions.
• Strong experience in Manufacturing Accounting.
• Experience working in manufacturing companies, Free Trade Zones, industrial environments, or organizations with international operations.
• Solid knowledge and experience with regulations and processes applicable to Free Trade Zone companies in the Dominican Republic.
• Experience working with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system, preferably with hands-on involvement in financial and accounting processes within the system.
• Advanced English proficiency (required).
