About The Role
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Financial Crime Product Owner to work for our client within the Banking / Financial Services sector. This is a 6 month fixed-term contract opportunity starting ASAP. It's a hybrid role based in Manchester (preferred) or London, with 3 days per week in the office.
Our client is delivering next-generation Customer Due Diligence (CDD) capabilities and is looking for an experienced Product Owner to lead the move from periodic KYC reviews to a continuous, event-driven and risk-based Perpetual KYC (pKYC) model. The role will own the roadmap and backlog for CDD/KYC capabilities and shape how the business onboards, assesses, monitors and refreshes its customers. It will suit people with deep Financial Crime expertise who enjoy turning complex policy and regulatory requirements into clear product outcomes, and who can work across Financial Crime, business and technology teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the product vision and strategy, and own the roadmap and backlog for CDD/KYC capabilities.
- Lead the transition from periodic KYC reviews to a continuous, event-driven and risk-based pKYC model.
- Shape capabilities across customer onboarding, CDD, customer risk assessment, ongoing monitoring, trigger management and KYC refresh.
- Translate Financial Crime policy, regulatory requirements and customer needs into clear product outcomes, epics and features.
- Define trigger-based journeys that use customer, transactional and wider risk signals to spot material changes and decide the right CDD response.
- Partner with Financial Crime, Compliance, Operations, Technology, Data, Architecture and Design teams to deliver scalable solutions.
- Drive automation, better use of data and simpler customer journeys while keeping Financial Crime controls effective.
- Define clear OKRs and success measures, and use insight and performance data to keep improving the product.
About You
- Strong Product Owner or Product Lead experience within banking or financial services.
- Deep knowledge of Financial Crime, CDD, KYC and customer risk management.
- Experience of pKYC, trigger-based CDD, event-driven monitoring or similar capabilities.
- Strong understanding of customer onboarding, KYC refresh and ongoing monitoring.
- Proven ability to set product strategy, roadmaps and priorities in complex technology environments.
- Excellent stakeholder leadership, with the ability to bridge Financial Crime, business and technology teams.
Nice to Have:
- Experience of CLM/KYC platforms, workflow and automation tools.
- Exposure to screening, transaction monitoring or data-led Financial Crime solutions.
