UFORCE is a combat-systems integrator transforming Ukrainian battlefield experience into deployable defence technology for allied nations. Built by Ukrainian practitioners and global technology leaders, UFORCE brings together unmanned air, sea, and land systems, software, command-and-control, and operational expertise into one adaptive combat architecture. Our mission is to make defence dramatically faster, more scalable, and more cost-effective than traditional military systems — helping free nations deter aggression by making defence 100× cheaper than offence. We are building a new category of defence company: combat-proven, open to allied integration, shaped by real-world frontline experience, and focused on protecting democratic societies at speed. About the Role We're hiring our first senior Finance leader in Portugal as UFORCE scales its manufacturing footprint locally. This is a true build-from-zero mandate: there is no existing local finance team to inherit or delegate to. You'll own Portugal's financial truth end-to-end — reporting, compliance, controls, ERP, and operational finance across manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, and tax — while staying hands-on enough to personally build the processes, models, and routines the function needs. You'll be based in Lisbon with regular time at our Portugal production sites, and will work closely with local leadership and group finance as a trusted, senior partner. This role suits someone who's equally comfortable setting strategy and rolling up their sleeves to close the books, fix a reconciliation, or walk the shop floor. Responsibilities Build and own Portugal's core finance operating rhythm — month-end close, reporting cadence, controls, and documentation — from the ground up. Deliver accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting under IFRS and local statutory/GAAP requirements, including tax filings and group reporting submissions. Establish hands-on financial control across manufacturing, procurement, inventory, supply chain, and vendor management, improving visibility into spend, working capital, and margin drivers. Play a senior, hands-on role in ERP implementation and finance process design — translating business needs into scalable, well-documented processes for close, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, inventory, and reporting. Own audit and advisor coordination for Portugal end-to-end, including timelines, documentation, and group finance liaison. Partner credibly with local operations, group finance, and leadership — providing clear, well-reasoned financial judgment as the business scales toward $50–100m+ revenue and increasing operational complexity. Requirements Must-have: Senior, hands-on finance experience — you've personally built or run close, reporting, controls, reconciliations, and audit support in a lean environment, not just managed through a large team. Manufacturing finance background — genuine experience with production economics, inventory, COGS, procurement, supply chain, and operational cost control (manufacturing, hardware, aerospace, automotive, industrial, or defense sectors; retail-only finance experience isn't a fit here). A builder mindset — you've created finance processes, controls, and reporting from scratch in a startup, scale-up, turnaround, or high-growth setting, without relying on inherited templates or an established team. ERP implementation experience — hands-on involvement in ERP rollout or major process change, from requirements through to user adoption and post-go-live stabilization. Strong reporting, tax, and audit judgment — solid command of IFRS, local statutory reporting, tax compliance, and audit readiness. Excellent stakeholder management — comfortable partnering with operations, group finance, leadership, and external advisors, and able to communicate tradeoffs and constraints clearly. Experience operating in high-growth, high-scale businesses — comfortable with the pace and scrutiny that come with rapid growth and increasing complexity. Nice-to-have: Big 4 training or close experience partnering with external auditors/advisors. Prior finance leadership experience in Portugal or a comparable local market. Experience with group reporting structures and cross-border finance coordination. Background in defense, aerospace, automotive, hardware, robotics, or other complex production environments. Experience building out an early local finance team after establishing the first operating foundation. The nature of combat has changed. Tomorrow’s battlefield success depends on autonomy, speed, and adaptability. And UFORCE is ready. Are You?
