FP&A Analyst | High-Growth, Private Equity-Backed Business

Location: London (Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office)

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £55,000–£70,000 + Bonus

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a high-growth, private equity-backed business in the services sector to appoint an FP&A Analyst into its expanding finance function.

The business is continuing to scale, with an increasing focus on financial planning, commercial insight and strengthening its reporting infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified accountant looking to move into a commercially focused role with meaningful exposure to senior leadership.

Reporting to the FP&A Manager, you will take ownership of key planning and reporting activities, including quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting and financial analysis across a multi-entity group.

The role offers significant visibility, with direct exposure to the executive team and board, alongside opportunities to work closely with operational leadership and contribute to investment-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Prepare quarterly forecasts across the consolidated group and individual operating entities, working closely with operational stakeholders to challenge assumptions and improve forecasting accuracy.
  • Support the annual budgeting process, including timetable management, financial modelling, consolidation and preparation of executive and board reporting.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the group's multi-entity structure, including intercompany transactions, recharges and management fees.
  • Deliver clear financial analysis and insights to support commercial and strategic decision-making.

Investment & Commercial Analysis

  • Support financial reporting and administration relating to investment and partnership structures.
  • Prepare investor reporting, financial calculations and supporting analysis.
  • Maintain accurate investment records and respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Undertake financial analysis to assess new investment opportunities, business initiatives and potential expansion projects.
  • Support corporate finance activities, including transactions, fundraising and board presentations.

FP&A Systems & Process Improvement

  • Play a key role in the ongoing development and optimisation of the group's financial planning platform.
  • Support planning cycles, maintain financial models and develop dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improve data quality and enhance reporting efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider finance team to strengthen financial controls, processes and reporting capabilities.

Business Partnering

  • Build strong relationships with operational and commercial stakeholders across the business.
  • Provide financial insight to support performance management and strategic decision-making.
  • Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations for non-finance colleagues.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant, ideally with 0–2 years' post-qualification experience. Strong part-qualified candidates will also be considered.
  • Background in a leading accounting practice or a high-performing in-house finance function.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, consolidations and intercompany accounting within multi-entity businesses.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial information and communicate findings effectively.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and non-finance colleagues.
  • Proactive, commercially minded and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Desirable

  • Previous experience in FP&A, commercial finance or financial planning.
  • Exposure to Anaplan or other planning platforms such as Adaptive, Pigment or Board.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed, high-growth or multi-site business.
  • Exposure to investment reporting, joint ventures or partnership structures.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join an ambitious, growing business at an exciting stage of its development.

The successful candidate will benefit from broad exposure across financial planning, commercial analysis and investment-related activities, with the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the development of the finance function.

With direct access to senior leadership, exposure to strategic decision-making and opportunities to improve systems and processes, the role offers an excellent platform for someone looking to accelerate their career in FP&A.
