FLSA STATUS: Exempt, Full-time
Salary range is $80,000-$90,000

Position Summary
The Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for the administration, configuration, support, and continuous improvement of Workday Financial Management. This role partners closely with Accounting, FP&A, Payroll, Shared Services, and People/HR teams to maintain system integrity, administer security, troubleshoot issues, support integrations, improve business processes, and deliver reporting solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong Workday expertise with a solid accounting foundation and the ability to translate business requirements into effective system solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Workday Financial Management business processes, security, and configurations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system errors, workflow issues, approval routing problems, and data integrity concerns.
- Configure and maintain foundational financial data, including cost centers, spend categories, accounts, worktags, and organizational structures.
- Implement and maintain business process controls, validations, and workflow enhancements.
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards, calculated fields, and data extracts.
- Support, troubleshoot, and validate Workday integrations, including EIBs and external system interfaces.
- Manage security roles, user access, and periodic access reviews.
- Gather requirements, document solutions, test enhancements, and support Workday releases and production support activities.
Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths
Education: Bachelor’s degree in information systems, accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. Workday training or certification is strongly preferred.
Experience: 3+ years of hands-on Workday Financial Management experience.
Special Skills:
- Experience supporting Workday Financial Management is required. Proficiency in functional areas such as Financial Accounting, Procurement, Expenses, Banking & Settlement, Projects, Grants, Reporting, or Payroll is highly desirable.
- Experience with Workday security administration, business process configuration, reporting, and troubleshooting errors.
- Experience supporting EIBs and Workday integration monitoring and issue resolution.
- Advanced Excel and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial operations, business process improvement, and internal controls.
- Strong requirements gathering, testing, documentation, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial and employee data with appropriate confidentiality and security awareness.
- Commitment to the mission and philosophy of Great Hearts and to responsible stewardship of resources in service to students and schools.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate financial or systems information for non-finance audiences.
- Sound judgment, discretion, attention to detail, and a high standard of accuracy and follow-through.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, multi-entity and multi-state environment.
- Service orientation, collaborative problem solving, and the ability to build trust across schools, regions, and functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365; advanced Excel capability is expected for finance leadership and analytical roles.
Additional Requirements
Type of fingerprint clearance: Must possess or obtain applicable fingerprint clearance if required by assignment, state, or campus access expectations.
Physical functions: Requires but is not limited to sitting, standing, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to approximately 15 pounds.
Travel required: Occasional travel to Great Hearts offices, academies, or partner sites may be required depending on role responsibilities.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
