Roadio is an Advanced Rider Assistance System (ARAS) purpose-built for motorcycles, mopeds and scooters. About The Role The Roadio team is looking for an experienced firmware engineer. You'll be responsible for owning the firmware development efforts and will work closely with a small global team in Taiwan, USA, and Canada. This role requires a high level of autonomy and ingenuity and is an instrumental part of our success plan. Responsibilities Architect and implement the firmware stack for the Roadio camera system Develop driver-level firmware for peripheral hardware like image sensors, SerDes, USB, and much more Develop application-level firmware for ISP, video encoding, and communications over USB Optimize the design and implementation for a power and resource constrained embedded system Work closely with our iOS and Android development team to deliver a low-latency, efficient, end-to-end computer vision pipeline & pleasant experience to the end-user Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a firmware engineer in consumer electronics Experience writing bare metal C or C++ firmware, and strong knowledge of embedded RTOSes Knowledge of communication protocols like I2C, SPI, UART, MIPI, CAN, USB, SerDes Familiar with lab equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and soldering Experience working and negotiating with manufacturers from the customer perspective Strong written & verbal communication in English (Mandarin a plus) Nice to Have Experience with deploying bare metal code to high performance multi-core ARM based SoCs (A53/ARMv8 or similar) Experience with at least one of: image compression, video codecs, image signal processing algorithms (e.g., denoising, motion compensation, sharpening, etc) Experience with embedded Linux Experience developing firmware under ISO 26262 or IEC 61508 (MISRA/SIL/ASIL) Benefits Competitive salary & benefits Equity, based on experience Flexible PTO Impact within a small team At Roadio, we don’t just accept difference - we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our employees, our products and our community.
