Board Intelligence is a technology and advisory firm on a mission to make boards more effective, and through them, build better businesses and benefit society.
Over twenty years we have established ourselves as the market leader in governance and board effectiveness, trusted by more than 80,000 directors, executives, and governance professionals globally, including across the Fortune 500, FTSE 100, and OMX 30. That trust has been earned through depth of insight, rigorous advisory work, and a track record that newer entrants simply cannot replicate.
We have invested in applied AI since 2020, well ahead of the market, and that early conviction has paid off. Our AI-powered platform and smart board advisor give us a competitive advantage that is widening, not narrowing. In 2024, K1 Investment Management, the leading B2B Enterprise SaaS investor, backed us to accelerate that position further. We are now growing fast, with a proven commercial model spanning both mid-market and enterprise, and a product suite that has become a necessary addition in high-stakes board environments.
The people joining us now will shape how we scale. We are deliberate about how we do that. Our founders and leadership team are deeply invested in keeping the culture that got us here: thoughtful, high calibre, and genuinely human. Ambition and balance are not in competition at Board Intelligence.
If you want to work at the intersection of AI and governance, on problems that matter at the highest level, this is a strong place to be.
The Role
As we grow our global client base, we are expanding our round-the-clock support coverage and are looking for a First Line, Customer Support Specialist to join BI24, our 24/7 support team, based in Sydney or Brisbane, Australia.
You will become an expert on the Board Intelligence platform, providing exceptional, concierge-style support to our global network of clients so they get fast, confident resolutions to their queries. Working UK hours from Sydney, you will be the principal point of contact for the UK business overnight, bridging the gap between the UK team finishing their day and starting the next.
While you will be based in Sydney/Brisbane, you will be working closely with, and reporting into, a UK-based team, so a strong affinity for UK working culture and communication style is important.
This role will work from 8am-5pm AEST which covers our overnight shift in the UK. We are recruiting for two possible day patterns:
The specific pattern for this hire will be agreed at offer stage, based on team coverage needs.
Three days a week you will be supported by another out-of-hours colleague. On the other nights you will be the principal point of contact for the business. During quieter periods there is the opportunity to support other parts of the business and learn new skills.
Person Specification
This role suits someone who is genuinely comfortable working alone. For much of the week you will be the only person representing Board Intelligence to our clients, making judgement calls without a colleague to turn to, and deciding for yourself what can wait until the UK team wakes up and what cannot.
You are calm when several things arrive at once, meticulous about records, and curious enough to want to understand a problem rather than simply close a ticket. You take pride in a client ending the conversation better off than when it started.

What good looks like in this role
How We Work
We hire people who are expert at what they do. Once you join, you have the autonomy to shape how you work and the space to do it well. That doesn’t mean working in isolation. You’ll have colleagues who know their craft, regular collaboration across functions, and easy access to senior leadership when you need it.
We keep our structure flat. We work at pace in an agile, nimble environment where good ideas don’t wait for permission. If you spot something that could work better, we encourage you to say so. If you want to run with an idea, we’ll back you to do it.
We work with people who take pride in their output, back their team through the hard parts, and leave things better than they found them.
What Happens Next
Once you apply, our Talent team will review your application. If there’s a fit, they’ll be in touch to discuss the role and next steps.
How We Use AI in Our Hiring
We use AI responsibly, both in the software we build for governance teams and in how we hire. Our Talent team may use AI to support application review, CV analysis, or identifying areas that need further verification.
But hiring decisions are made by people. AI surfaces signals; people make the call on whether to progress a candidate or extend an offer.
If you’d like details on how your data is handled during recruitment, contact our Talent team.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
We’re an equal opportunities employer. We’re building a team that works because it reflects a breadth of experience, background, and perspective.
Apply even if you don’t tick every box on the job specification. If the role excites you and you think you could make an impact, we want to hear from you.
We don’t discriminate on the basis of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic. If you need reasonable adjustments at any stage of recruitment, or if there’s anything else we can do to make the process more accessible, tell our Talent team. We’ll sort it.
Your Safety Matters
Be cautious of unexpected messages claiming to be from Board Intelligence. We will never ask you for fees as part of recruitment. If you’re unsure whether a communication is genuine, contact our Talent team through our official channels before sharing information or clicking links.
