Food Labeling Specialist

Reporting to the Principal Food Labeling Specialist, you will serve as a subject matter expert for United States food labeling requirements. You will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure product labels and packaging comply with regulatory requirements while supporting business objectives and speed to market. You will independently manage labeling reviews, provide regulatory guidance, and support product commercialization activities across a diverse portfolio while helping deliver accurate, compliant labels to market. A Taste of Your Responsibilities Provide United States food labeling guidance to teams across Regulatory Affairs, Nutrition, Legal, Government Affairs, Marketing, and Product Development. Review and approve product artwork, packaging, and labeling materials to ensure compliance with Food and Drug Administration, United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service, and company requirements. Develop and maintain mandatory label content, including ingredient statements, allergen declarations, nutrition facts panels, claims, net weight statements, and product naming. Evaluate labeling claims and marketing language, providing compliant and practical solutions that support brand objectives. Research, interpret, and communicate current and emerging labeling regulations and industry trends. Support new product launches, renovations, and packaging changes by providing timely labeling guidance throughout the development process. Obtain United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service label approvals, temporary approvals, and extensions as needed. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve labeling processes, accuracy, and efficiency. Respond to labeling and regulatory inquiries while helping identify compliant solutions to complex issues. Manage multiple projects independently while balancing competing priorities and deadlines. Ingredients Required for Your Success Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Regulatory Affairs, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 3+ years of food industry experience in food labeling, regulatory affairs, or a related discipline. Strong knowledge of Food and Drug Administration and/or United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service labeling regulations. Experience reviewing food packaging, artwork, and product claims for regulatory compliance. Understanding of food product development, manufacturing processes, food safety, allergens, and ingredient regulations. Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams to drive compliant business outcomes. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience supporting a variety of food categories and product formats preferred. Demonstrated success working independently and exercising sound regulatory judgment. Physical Requirements This role is a hybrid office-based position and does not require regular visits to manufacturing facilities. Number of Days in Office: 4 #LI-MH1 #LI-ONSITE #LI-Associate Compensation Pay Range:$64,000-$95,000 The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity.
