About Geom
Geom is building an AI platform for production-scale architecture. We use AI and a proprietary semantic layer to understand architectural drawings and automate the repetitive, labor-intensive work of architectural production.
Our technology works with builders’ existing plan sets and workflows to automate tasks such as quality control, option solving, plan modifications, mirroring, renderings, plot plans, and construction-document preparation.
We’re a distributed team of engineers, architects, designers, and former homebuilding operators working together to fundamentally change how architectural work gets done.
The Role
We are seeking a customer-focused, technically versatile Forward Deployed Engineer. In this role, you will work directly with Geom’s customers to implement, customize, and optimize our platform, ensuring successful deployments and long-term adoption.
A successful Forward Deployed Engineer combines strong technical expertise with exceptional customer understanding. They quickly understand customer challenges, deliver reliable technical solutions, communicate effectively across teams, and help shape the product based on real-world customer needs.
You will partner closely with Engineering, and Architecture to understand customer workflows, solve complex technical challenges, and translate real-world needs into scalable product improvements. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to build a product from the ground up, who enjoys working across disciplines, solving ambiguous problems, and building strong customer relationships.
What You’ll Work On
Lead technical implementations and customer deployments from kickoff through production.
Partner directly with customers to understand business processes, workflows, and technical requirements.
Configure, customize, and integrate the platform with customer systems and third-party applications.
Develop scripts, APIs, automation tools, and lightweight applications to accelerate customer adoption.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide hands-on support during implementation.
Collaborate with Engineering to prioritize customer feedback and influence the product roadmap.
Translate customer requirements into technical specifications and implementation plans.
Conduct technical discovery sessions, solution design workshops, and architecture reviews.
Train customer administrators and end users on platform functionality and best practices.
Create implementation documentation, technical guides, and knowledge base articles.
Monitor deployment success and recommend process improvements.
Support proof-of-concepts, pilots, and technical evaluations during the sales process as needed.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, implementation consulting, or technical customer-facing roles.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Go, or Java).
Experience working with REST APIs, web services, and system integrations.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously.
Experience deploying SaaS or enterprise software solutions.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience with SQL and relational databases.
Knowledge of CI/CD, Git, Docker, and modern development workflows.
Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment.
Experience with AI, machine learning, and data platforms.
You may be particularly well suited for this role if you have experience with:
Experience working with CAD software or other technical design tools.
Experience in architecture, homebuilding, construction, or the broader AEC industry.
Familiarity with architectural drawings, construction documents, plan sets, or production homebuilding workflows.
Compensation
Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity.
Benefits
Health, dental, and vision insurance
Paid time off and holidays
Collaborative and innovative work environment
