Forward Deployed Engineer
Toulouse / Remote Full-time
You are the engineer who sits between Sparengine and its clients. You take a client's real aircraft data, in whatever shape it arrives, get it through the platform, and make sure what comes out is right. Strong Python and data skills, comfort with AI pipelines, fluent English and the ease to work directly with lessors, MROs and technical consultants. What you learn in the field goes straight back into the product.

It reconstructs the full history of an aircraft and its components, back to birth, from everything that exists about it: paper records, scanned logbooks, maintenance software exports, scattered spreadsheets, and data recovered directly from maintenance centers. Lessors, MROs, part out specialists and technical consultants rely on it for aircraft transitions, teardown projects and pre buy intelligence, where a missing trace has real financial and airworthiness consequences.
The Mission
No two aircraft arrive the same way. One client sends thousands of scanned pages, another an export from their maintenance tracking system, another a mix of both with spreadsheets nobody has opened in years. Your job is to take that reality and turn it into a delivery the client can trust: you onboard the data, adapt the pipeline to it, check the output against what an aviation records specialist expects, and close the gaps. You are the engineer clients talk to, and the one who tells the product team what actually breaks in the field.

Day to Day
- Onboard client aircraft data from any source and get it cleanly through the Sparengine platform
- Write the scripts, connectors and configuration each project needs, in Python
- Run and validate deliveries for transitions, teardown projects and pre buy work, working with the technical team and domain reviewers
- Work directly with client technical teams, on calls and on site, to scope projects and resolve issues
- Turn recurring field problems into product improvements, and push them into the core pipeline with the engineering team
- Document what you build so the next project starts faster
- Strong Python and data engineering skills; you are comfortable with messy, inconsistent real world data
- Hands on experience with AI pipelines (OCR, LLMs, document or data extraction), not just calling an API
- Fluent professional English, written and spoken (mandatory); French is a strong plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills: you are at ease in front of a client and can explain a technical result to a non technical audience
- High autonomy and ownership: you take a project from raw data to delivery without being walked through it
- A very high bar for accuracy, and the judgment to know when a result is not good enough yet
- Aviation, MRO or technical records knowledge is a plus, not a requirement
- A role at the meeting point of engineering, clients and product, with real influence on what gets built
- Direct exposure to lessors, MROs and technical consultants across Europe and the US
- Close work with the founder and the technical team, in a small, high trust team
- Based in Toulouse, with remote work and travel to clients when projects require it
