NestAI builds the adaptive operating system for modern battlefield operations. Most AI systems are built once, validated at deployment, and expected to stay sufficient after that. That assumption holds until conditions change, and in defence, they always do. Our team develops adaptive intelligence for unmanned and command systems: AI that continuously learns from operational data and adapts to changing conditions, deployed in environments where there is no internet, no GPS, and failure is not an option. NestOS, our open, modular, and interoperable platform, enables this at scale and keeps capability evolution under sovereign European control.
Founded in 2025 by Peter Sarlin, whose previous company Silo AI became Europe’s largest AI acquisition, NestAI has grown to over 200 engineers and scientists and partners with leading European defence forces and industry. We’re ambitious about what we’re building and honest with each other. The bar is high, and so are the standards we hold ourselves to. But this is also a place built on humility, trust, and looking after each other. If that sounds like the kind of work you want to do, keep reading.
Join us as an RF Field Engineer
As an RF Field Engineer, you’ll be NestAI’s expert on everything that happens over the air. Spectrum behaves differently in every environment our systems operate in, and someone needs to understand exactly how, down to the RF level, and make sure our platform performs accordingly. You’ll work closely with customer project managers and test engineers at test sites and during live operations, bringing deep radio and network expertise to bear on real operational problems. This role suits someone who has spent years building genuine depth in RF and network management, and wants to apply it where the stakes are real.
What you’ll work on
You’ll be the technical authority on spectrum and network behaviour for customer deployments, working at test sites and during ongoing operations where RF conditions are rarely ideal. Day-to-day, you will:
Assess and manage spectrum use across customer environments, understanding how RF frequencies propagate and behave over the air in varied and challenging conditions
Work with radio networks end to end, from the physical radio layer through to how those networks are managed and controlled
Map and troubleshoot network management setups, understanding what data moves through the network and how it’s governed
Support customer operations on site, working alongside project managers and test engineers to resolve issues as they arise
Bring your understanding of mobile network protocols (5G/6G) to bear on how NestOS integrates with and adapts to customer network environments
What we’re looking for
If your background doesn’t match every requirement but the work resonates with you, we’d encourage you to apply. How you think, learn, and take ownership matters more to us than ticking every box. Here is what we are looking for:
Strong understanding of spectrum and spectrum management, and how RF frequencies behave over the air
Solid experience with radio networks, specifically at the radio/RF level, not just the network layer above it
Understanding of network management protocols and architecture: how networks are controlled, what data flows through them, and how that’s governed
Typically at least 3-5+ years of relevant experience, enough to have built real depth in network management and RF
Comfortable working directly with customer project managers and test engineers at test sites and during operations
A technical profile with some understanding of the hardware side of RF and network systems
Nice to have:
Familiarity with 5G/6G mobile network protocols and architecture
Experience with tactical communications systems or defence/dual-use RF environments
Why join NestAI
Work alongside over 200 engineers and scientists, including 60+ PhDs. People who’ve built AI platforms, autonomous systems, and defence technology across Europe. Most of our people say the best thing about NestAI is the people you get to work with.
Work with real ownership. You identify what needs building, talk to the right people, and ship. Ownership here is the expectation, not a talking point.
Work at a pace where Monday’s idea can be Friday’s deployment. The problems we’re solving are urgent, so the culture reflects it.
Work on systems that must operate with no connectivity, no GPS, and no margin for error. The problems we’re solving are technically hard, genuinely novel, and they sit at the intersection of AI and the physical world.
Work at a company where the platform, the practices, and the standards are all being built right now. The people here get to define how things work and how they scale.
What we offer
We offer practical benefits to support your work and wellbeing:
