About the Role
Join a customer-facing engineering team that deploys and supports software in tactical edge environments. You will help customers run critical systems on compact, resource-constrained hardware, including in settings with limited or no network connectivity.
What You'll Do
Work in a small, independent team to deliver high-stakes customer projects from planning through deployment.
Deploy and manage containerized applications in on-premises, air-gapped, and edge environments.
Troubleshoot Linux, networking, and system issues, and review monitoring data and alerts.
Manage system configuration, resource allocation, load balancing, container orchestration, and software upgrades.
Discuss technical architecture with customer teams and provide operational support to resolve issues with minimal impact.
Travel to customer locations, approximately 25% of the time.
What We're Looking For
Two to five years of software engineering experience, including hands-on integration with physical hardware in on-premises or edge environments.
An active U.S. Secret or Top Secret security clearance and authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
A computer science degree and strong Linux systems experience, including administration, networking, and on-premises infrastructure.
Experience deploying and managing containerized applications with Kubernetes.
Proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, Bash, Go, or JavaScript.
Background in defense, systems integration, or related technology environments; familiarity with forward-deployed software platforms is a plus.
Ability to work independently, communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and support frequent customer travel.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $135,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Location
Remote, United States. The primary location is Palo Alto, California. The role requires four days per week in the office and travel to customer sites.
