Job Location: remote from Romania Budget: 30-40 euro/h Recruitment process: HR discussion Technical interview Role description: Our client is a new company building technology that syncs real-world live sporting event data (motion and positional data) with gaming environments in real time, so players can experience live moments as they unfold within the game. The initial focus is sport and Roblox, with plans to expand into other entertainment and gaming platforms down the line. You will lead the game-side development, initially within Roblox. You will take real-time data from our external processing architecture and turn it into responsive, synchronised characters and experiences inside the game. This is a hands-on founding role with real ownership. You'll help shape the technical direction of the product as well as build it. What you'll work on: Build and own LIVESYNC's Roblox integration Develop the systems that turn live motion and positional data into gameplay Build character animation, movement and synchronisation systems Develop robust client-server architecture for live experiences Optimise performance across players, characters and live data Work closely with our real-time systems engineer to define the interface between LIVESYNC and the game Help shape future integration SOPs across Roblox games and other gaming platforms Contribute to technical decisions, documentation and future engineering hires What we're looking for: You are an experienced games engineer who understands both gameplay and the systems underneath it. More importantly, you genuinely love games and care about the experience layer . You are interested in how technology translates into something that feels responsive, intuitive and fun for the player. You should have strong experience with: Roblox Studio and Luau Multiplayer and client-server game architecture Character, movement or animation systems Performance optimisation Integrating external systems or data into games Experience with live data, procedural animation, motion capture, sports games or other game engines would be particularly useful. We care more about the problems you have solved and your ability to learn than whether your previous technology stack exactly matches ours. The kind of person we're looking for: You should enjoy difficult technical problems, be comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and be willing to challenge our assumptions when there is a better solution. You should also be comfortable working directly with founders, external technology partners and other engineers. We want someone who is excited by the opportunity to help build not only the product, but the engineering culture and team around it. Over time, this role has the potential to grow from Roblox engineering into broader games platform development and technical leadership. Quali fi cations: Solid understanding of multiplayer and client-server game architecture. Experience building character animation, movement, and synchronization systems. Strong performance optimization skills for real-time applications. Experience integrating external APIs or real-time data feeds into game engines. Ability to work effectively in a small, fast-paced startup team. Preferred proficiency in Roblox Studio and Luau. Preferred experience with procedural animation, motion capture, or other game engines (Unity, Unreal).
