FP&A Expert

Job Summary:

The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Expert supports high-impact financial modeling, forecasting, and performance analysis for BSMH. Operating within the Global Business Services (GBS), this role partners closely with stateside and global finance teams to develop forward-looking insights, improve forecast accuracy, and enhance strategic decision-making through robust data analytics. The FP&A Expert also leads initiatives around process improvement, automation, and standardization of FP&A practices.

Essential Functions:

• Serve as a subject matter expert and FP&A superuser for forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis processes.
• Partner with stakeholders across finance, operations, and strategy to provide data-driven financial insights that support key decisions.
• Lead development and maintenance of complex financial models and scenario analysis to evaluate operational and financial outcomes.
• Support the development of budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans in alignment with business strategies.
• Analyze and interpret financial results, key performance indicators (KPIs), and cost trends to inform business performance improvement.
• Design and generate recurring and ad hoc financial reports; ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Actively support month-end close processes by reconciling forecasts with actuals and importing data from financial systems.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory standards, and corporate finance policies.
• Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, standardization, and data integrity.
• Provide coaching and financial consultation to internal stakeholders; participate in finance transformation or analytics projects as needed.
• Provides guidance, coaching, support and expertise to FP&A team
• Assist in evaluating new service lines, payor models, and operational programs.
• Support revenue and cost modeling efforts in partnership with General Accounting and Revenue Management.
• Serve as liaison during financial audits and regulatory reporting cycles.
• Recommend and assist in implementation of business intelligence (BI) and reporting enhancements.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or related field (required)

Required Licensing & Certifications:

• CPA, CFA, CMA, or healthcare finance certifications (preferred)

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis, management reporting, or accounting (required)
• Experience in healthcare accounting and/or analysis; knowledge of third-party reimbursement in a global shared service environment (required)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions), PowerPoint, and financial modeling (required)
• Experience using ERP and FP&A systems (required)
• Familiarity with forecasting and budgeting systems (required)

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office related products including Excel with graphics (i.e., charts & graphs), PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
• Ability to manipulate and analyze large sums of data using spreadsheet applications.
• Current knowledge of healthcare trends and operations
• Understand key business drivers

Training:

• Formal training in data analytics tools or Excel-based modeling (preferred)
