FPGA Engineer

Summary WhiteFox, a drone airspace security company, is pioneering the safe integration of drones into society. WhiteFox develops products that save lives, protect property, and safeguard privacy. You will be in the forefront of counter-sUAS (small unmanned aerial system) technology. Job Description Design and implement complex digital signal processing algorithms, mainly targeting the Xilinx series of FPGAs. Convert pure software modems (C/C++ and Python) into FPGA implementations in order to process wireless drone signals in real-time while reducing power consumption and form factor. Use lab equipment to test and verify signal processing algorithms. Desired Skills and Experience Deep physical layer understanding of modern communications protocols (LTE, WiMAX, WiFi, etc.) Expertise and knowledge of forward error correction (FEC) schemes, demodulation, modulation, digital filters, and the related Experience using git (or other version control software) Embedded software development experience (Linux, RTOS, bare metal) Familiarity with RF systems Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar major or equivalent experience 5 years of FPGA design and simulation using Verilog/VHDL, targeting Xilinx FPGA's Xilinx design tools (Vivado). Implementing FPGA-based digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms. Expertise with FPGA synthesis and timing closure Using C/C++ and a scripting language (Python preferred) for design and testing of DSP algorithms Embedded system processors (Zynq, Microblaze, etc.) Using lab test equipment (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers) for design and testing Must be eligible to meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) access requirements Compensation Competitive salary offered Company stock options 401K with 4% Matching or Roth IRA options Health, Vision, Dental insurance Unlimited PTO Location Los Angeles, California (willing to consider remote applicants) About WhiteFox WhiteFox started as a drone manufacturer—we’re enthusiasts who want them to fly safely and legally.
