FPGA Hardware Engineer

Our Defence Avionics team is looking for an FPGA Hardware Engineer to work on new safety-critical systems involving highly complex technologies.

WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?

We are looking for an FPGA Developer with at least 2 years of experience in FPGA design, contributing throughout the entire development lifecycle, from requirements definition to implementation and verification.

Main responsibilities:

  • Design and implement digital architectures on FPGAs for avionics systems.
  • Develop programmable logic using VHDL.
  • Define and analyse technical design requirements.
  • Perform functional simulations and verify correct design operation.
  • Carry out hardware testing and validation.
  • Contribute to the entire FPGA development lifecycle, from requirements definition to implementation and verification.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on hardware and electronic systems integration.
  • Apply the quality standards and certification procedures relevant to aerospace hardware development.

WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?

For this position, we are looking for a professional with at least 2 years of experience in HW/SW development within complex, regulated technical environments, with the ability to understand electronic and computing architectures and work with structured systems engineering methodologies.

Key requirements:

  • Completed degree in Systems Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
  • FPGA development experience, including digital architecture design, functional simulation, and hardware verification in a laboratory environment.
  • Proficiency in the VHDL hardware description language.
  • Experience in preparing technical documentation, including design documentation, test documentation, etc.

The following skills will be considered a plus:

  • Knowledge of Microchip FPGAs and the Libero IDE environment.
  • Knowledge of the DO-254 certification standard applicable to avionics systems.
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces, particularly PCIe (PCI Express).
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git and/or SVN.
