We are looking for an experienced Food Product Development & Formulation Expert to support the development and commercialization of innovative food and beverage products.

The ideal freelancer should have practical experience developing commercial formulations, optimizing recipes, selecting ingredients, and preparing technical documentation for manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize food and beverage formulations
• Convert concepts into commercially viable prototypes
• Determine ingredient percentages and processing parameters
• Improve taste, texture, stability, shelf life, and product performance
• Recommend suitable functional ingredients and alternatives
• Conduct formulation troubleshooting and optimization
• Develop scalable recipes suitable for commercial production
• Prepare SOPs, batch sheets, specifications, and technical documentation
• Provide guidance on manufacturing and scale-up
• Consider food safety, regulatory, labeling, and quality requirements
• Communicate with suppliers and manufacturers when required

Ideal Candidate

• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, Nutrition, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional experience in food product development or formulation
• Strong understanding of food ingredients and processing
• Experience with commercial-scale formulation and product optimization
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety systems
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly
• Experience with startups, brands, co-packers, or food manufacturers is preferred
