Freelance Career Transition Coach

THE ROLE
The Career Transition Coach supports participants in Careerminds’ outplacement programs, individually and/or in groups, with their career development and job search.
This is a freelance engagement on a self-employed basis, combining remote work with on-site assignments, depending on client and program needs. On-site assignments may be scheduled as half-day or full-day engagements. Candidates must be legally authorized to provide services as self-employed professionals in their country of residence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build strong, trusting relationships with participants and create a supportive and motivating coaching environment.
• Support participants throughout their Career Transition journey, helping them set clear goals, maintain momentum, and make progress toward their professional objectives.
• Provide personalized guidance on career direction, transition-related challenges, career choices, and decision-making.
• Guide participants in their professional positioning and personal branding, resume preparation, networking, job search strategy, interviews, opportunity assessment, and negotiation.
• Accurately document each participant’s coaching journey in the Career Management System (CMS), in accordance with our service commitments.
• Deliver workshops and career transition programs, providing individual support remotely and facilitating group sessions on-site, as required by clients.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Practical experience in Human Resources
• Expertise in career development, including career planning, personal branding, resume writing, interviewing, networking, social media, and online job searching.
• A minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional experience, along with a good understanding of organizational structures, corporate cultures, and decision-making processes.
• Experience delivering coaching sessions remotely and strong proficiency with digital tools.
• A high-speed internet connection and a personal computer with reliable audio and video equipment are essential. Familiarity with video conferencing tools, instant messaging (such as Slack), and scheduling tools is required.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• The ability to work effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds, educational levels, and socioeconomic circumstances.
• Excellent listening skills, strong empathy, and genuine sensitivity to emotional responses.
• A high level of autonomy, strong motivation, and the ability to work independently.
