Position Summary

QCHI is looking for a strong writer with an eye for design to help create and produce content for LendNation in the United States and Speedy Cash in Canada. You will write long-form and short-form copy for websites, print materials, emails, SMS, corporate communications, newsletters and other marketing assets, then help bring that content to life through layouts and production work.

Writing is the foundation of this role. Working with our marketing team and experienced designer, you will adapt approved creative concepts and templates into finished materials. You will also use our company-approved AI tools extensively to explore ideas, develop drafts and improve production efficiency, applying your own judgment to make every deliverable accurate, polished and true to each brand.

This opportunity is well suited to an early-career creative who brings strong writing fundamentals, some hands-on layout experience and a desire to build broader skills. We will provide brand guidance, feedback and opportunities to learn our tools and workflows. The engagement will begin at approximately 20 hours per week, with the expectation that needs may grow toward 40 hours as onboarding progresses and the fit develops. Additional hours will depend on business needs, work quality and mutual agreement.

Primary Duties

Copywriting and content development

  • Write and edit website pages, articles, blog posts, campaign headlines, print collateral, email content, SMS messages, corporate communications and newsletters.
  • Learn and apply each brand’s voice, adapting copy for different audiences, channels and US or Canadian market needs. Write in a clear, approachable and nonjudgmental way.
  • Turn briefs, product information and stakeholder input into useful content with clear messaging and calls to action. Apply SEO guidance to website copy while keeping it natural and easy to read.
  • Use company-approved AI tools to generate ideas, outlines, drafts and variations. Edit critically, verify facts and claims, and take responsibility for the quality of the finished work.

Creative production and collaboration

  • Partner with our designer to execute approved concepts, adapt existing templates and create straightforward layouts for digital and print materials.
  • Place and format copy, adjust typography and spacing, resize assets and prepare files to supplied specifications while maintaining brand standards.
  • Help build and update website content in WordPress or other approved publishing tools, using established components and layouts.
  • Support email assembly and formatting in Bloomreach using existing templates. As skills develop, make basic HTML/CSS updates with guidance from our creative and marketing technology teams.
  • Review copy and layouts for accuracy, readability, links, mobile presentation and consistency. Incorporate required disclosures and route materials through established review and approval processes.
  • Manage assigned deadlines, revisions and files; communicate progress and questions clearly; and apply feedback to strengthen future work.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, with samples that demonstrate both concise marketing copy and longer-form content.
  • A developing eye for layout, typography and visual hierarchy, plus hands-on experience with at least one design tool such as Canva, Figma or Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Comfort using generative AI in a creative workflow and the ability to explain how you improve, fact-check and refine its output. Follow company guidance for approved tools and confidential information.
  • Attention to detail, dependable follow-through and openness to feedback. Ability to work independently on assigned deliverables and collaborate with a marketing team.
  • No minimum number of years of experience or specific degree is required. Relevant freelance, internship, academic, volunteer and personal projects are welcome.

Helpful Additional Experience

Experience with WordPress, email builders or Bloomreach; basic HTML/CSS; print file preparation; SEO copywriting; or content for financial services or another regulated industry is a plus. You do not need experience with every platform to apply.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • This is a remote/hybrid position; proximity to the Kansas City area is preferred. Must work/reside in a state where QCHI is already registered as an employer.
  • Must adhere to all work-from-home or in-office requirements as directed.
  • Standard physical demands for digital work environments.

How to Apply:

Submit a resume or brief summary of your background, availability and a small portfolio. Include at least one longer writing sample, two or three short-form examples, and one layout or production sample. Tell us what you contributed to each piece and how AI supported the work, if applicable. Academic, personal and self-initiated samples are welcome.

We are interested in how you write, how you think about the presentation of your work and how you respond to feedback. Strong fundamentals and a willingness to grow matter more than a lengthy work history.
