PurpleGlo is a tech first experiential agency in Dubai. Since 2011 we have built immersive activations, interactive installations and event technology for brands across the GCC. Interfaces are a growing share of that work: touch tables, kiosks, LED walls, event apps, photo experiences and live data dashboards. We need a freelance UI/UX designer who can design for all of them, and who understands that a guest standing two metres from a screen is a very different user from one holding a phone.
Engagement timeframe: November-January (3 months)
What you will do
* Design interfaces for physical spaces: touchscreens, kiosks, portrait and ultra wide displays, multi screen setups and their mobile companions
* Take briefs from our Creative Designer Lead, work under our Creative Director, and hand finished Figma files to our developers (web, Unity and real time)
* Build flows, wireframes, high fidelity screens, prototypes and small design systems for projects that go live in weeks, not quarters
* Join test days in Dubai before installs; what reads well in Figma has to work in a bright hall with a queue behind it
* Bring UI concepts to pitches when we are competing for work
What you bring
* 4+ years in UI/UX with a portfolio of shipped products, at least one on a non standard screen (kiosk, touch table, LED, TV, in car or wearable)
* Expert in Figma: components, variables, auto layout, prototyping
* Clean handoff habits: every state, every edge case, named layers, exported assets
* A feel for motion. You can show how a screen moves, not only how it sits
* Arabic or RTL layout experience is a strong plus. So is any time spent next to Unity, TouchDesigner or another real time engine
How it works
Freelance and project based, with a retainer for the right person once we have shipped together. Dubai based preferred; remote works if you overlap Gulf hours and can be in Dubai for key test days. You invoice us, so you will need a freelance permit, your own licence or an overseas entity.
