Show job description

IBMC is assisting a fast-growing UK third-party logistics (3PL) and e-commerce fulfillment group operating across five core divisions: Warehouse & Fulfillment, Final Mile, Courier, Freight, and Customer Service. Our client is systemizing its operations to support rapid international scaling. Managed through IBMC, this dual-mandate role serves as a foundational operational seat with a direct mandate to build, document, and scale the freight rate procurement desk while delivering key business analysis for executive leadership.

We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive Freight and Business Analyst to hold a dual-mandate role (indicative split: 60% Freight Commercial & Operations, 40% Business Analysis). You will turn consolidated group freight volumes into a commercial asset—tendering lanes, benchmarking carrier/forwarder rates (focusing on final mile carriers), and building standardized rate cards. Simultaneously, you will learn the end-to-end freight operation from senior UK leads, translating undocumented workflows into signed-off Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), capturing unbilled billable activity, maintaining the Notion operating workspace, and preparing recurring executive reporting.

Working Schedule & LocationWorking Hours: 100% aligned with UK Business Hours (Minimum core overlap: 09:00 to 17:00 UK Time, Monday to Friday / Evening-Night WIB).

    Key Responsibilities

    • Carrier Rates & Freight Procurement (60%): Benchmark, chase, and negotiate improved rates with carriers and forwarders using consolidated volumes; build and maintain centralized rate cards/benchmark databases; turnaround client rate requests within 1 working day.
    • Freight Operations & Documentation: Handle core operational workflows (shipment document packs: commercial invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading, CMRs, customs data); execute pre-despatch controls and checklists on every shipment.
    • SOP Production & Department Building: Document every freight process learned into drafted SOPs (minimum 2 signed-off SOPs/month) to eliminate single-person dependency and establish the department's operating backbone in Notion.
    • Business Analysis & Executive Reporting (40%): Build and run recurring management dashboards across divisions; conduct process/cost analysis; identify leakage in billable activity with weekly recovery reports; execute special projects directly for the Chief Executive.
    • Daily Discipline & Exception Management: Deliver daily written operational reports before 09:30 UK time; flag shipment exceptions to the accountable UK owner on the same working day (100% compliance).
    • Primary Profile: Minimum 2+ years of experience in freight forwarding, international logistics, or shipping operations, including pricing, rate procurement, or carrier management.
    • Alternative Profile: Strong Business Operations Analyst (e-commerce ops, business analysis, or agency background) willing to learn freight commercial work, starting with business analysis, rate desk administration, and SOP mapping.
    • Shipping Documentation Knowledge: Practical familiarity with international shipping documents (Bills of Lading, CMRs, commercial invoices, packing lists, customs entries).
    • Analytical & Spreadsheet Mastery: Strong capabilities in data analysis, rate benchmarking, cost modeling, and converting raw data into executive recommendations.
    • Process Documentation Skills: Demonstrated ability or experience in writing SOPs, building runbooks, or maintaining project workspaces (e.g., Notion).
    • Language & Communication: C1 Level or above in English (written and spoken) to negotiate with carriers via email/phone and participate in daily video calls with UK leadership.
    • Shift Commitment: Full-shift availability across UK business hours.
    • Competitive salary package reflecting analytical and operational scope.
    • Direct working exposure to UK executive leadership and global logistics networks.
    • Ground-floor engagement seat with clear build-and-scale career progression.
    • Fully supported IBMC facility working environment in Indonesia.
