Job Overview

We are looking for a Freight Carrier Virtual Assistant to support a U.S.-based trucking company by finding and booking profitable loads for its trucks. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience using DAT Load Board, Truckstop, or similar platforms to find suitable loads, negotiate rates with brokers, and manage shipments for the company's trucks. The role requires someone who can identify profitable loads, coordinate with drivers and brokers, and keep trucks moving efficiently while minimizing empty miles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Search load boards such as DAT and Truckstop for available loads that match the company's trucks, lanes, and equipment.
  • Contact freight brokers to negotiate rates and book loads.
  • Compare load rates, mileage, deadhead miles, and other costs to identify profitable loads.
  • Plan loads based on truck locations, availability, equipment type, and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with drivers regarding load details, pickup and delivery appointments, and route information.
  • Obtain and review rate confirmations and ensure load details are accurate.
  • Track active loads and follow up with brokers and drivers on shipment updates.
  • Find backhaul loads and plan the next load to reduce empty miles.
  • Maintain accurate load records and update the company's TMS or dispatch system.
  • Communicate delays, cancellations, and other issues to brokers and drivers.

    Qualifications

    • At least 2 years of experience in U.S. trucking load management or dispatching.
      • Hands-on experience using DAT Load Board, Truckstop, or similar platforms.
      • Experience searching for, evaluating, and booking loads for a trucking company.
      • Familiarity with broker rate negotiation, rate per mile, deadhead miles, and truck availability.
      • Good communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
      • Ability to work U.S. business hours.
